@doodysdaggers The padre is available if you still wanted one. It's the last run that are doing. I believe they are retiring the model... for now.

​@ADSUPINTHIS Damn, I really hope they don't retire the model. It seems to be such a successful design that I iust hoped they'd keep it around. Thankfully, I pre-ordered a reverse tux, so I won't completely miss out on it, but I was hoping to also get some other version at some point.

I wanted this one a lot, and missed it as well. But I did order the Django, can't wait for it to arrive.

Great looking knife and it tested well. I can see why you want one! I still like my Nightshade in Elmax. It has preformed even better with the edge angle lowered to 25 degrees inclusive.

I love, love, love the Kunwu Padre! I've had the satin diamond Ti version for a couple months, and I now have both a stonewashed diamond Ti version AND the "secret" satin orange peel Ti Padre, (they only made 24), on the way to me now!

Which finish do you prefer and is less prone to scratch in you're opinion the satin or stonewashed.

@@sterlingstoots3215 The version which will show wear the least obviously is definitely the stonewashed diamond Ti. However, the very high polish Kunwu puts on their satin blades means it would be pretty easy to polish out most scratches with something as simple as some Flitz.

Yelp I just ordered mine too. I'm not a huge knife guy, I just bought the mini claymore a few months ago and Ive been look for a show piece. I almost pulled the trigger and got the Django but I knew as soon as I did they would release more Padres. So glad I waited!

@@mrcordell865 django is a different experience, would recommend coping one. The black dlc on the blade is the best I’ve seen so far, I own a okay collection, but this one is definitely occupying the special place in my heart

Awesome video Doody! Knife looks killer! Not sure how easy it would be for you to get but if you can get your hands on some of the green plastic pallet strapping material that’s really good for cut tests! It’s hard on blades and was most of what I cut at my last job.

Certainly cut thru the thicker cardboard very smoothly with no hesitation. Wide blade makes for wide handle as well. See why you were impressed and hope you find one for purchase.

They're reappearing on the market now. I was sold as soon as I handled one. It's a layaway situation for me. I'm super sketchy about spending that kind of money on a new company. It's GOOD. REAL GOOD. I'll probably get the Ronin at some point too. They've definitely got a future as a knife company. I was impressed even more so than I was with the Vosteed Thunderbird. Vosteed is killing it. I'd like to see these guys offer some more budget friendly options under the $200 mark. That's why Vosteed has absolutely EXPLODED. I'd buy stock in Vosteed if I could.

I was not familiar with Kunwu before this video but after looking them up I see quite a few designs I like on their site. That pulsar with Blue Gmasscus looks pretty sick.

I would offer to sell you mine but this is one of my absolute favorite knives in my collection and my favorite kunwu by a wide margin lol I’m glad you loved the knife! I hope you find one! I will keep my eyes peeled and see if I can find one

The Padre is one of the most badass knives released in 2023. I got lucky and scored one the retailer must have miss priced because it was $238 when I bought it but the price went up to $330 the day after I ordered it. Jared Neeves said he also missed getting one, so he called Kunwu and was told that they weren't planning to make more anytime soon, if ever. I think they are missing a huge opportunity by not keeping this model in their line up. This thing has a similar cool factor to Strider, Evo, Xm-18, ect. Great video man! If you like the Padre you might check out the PMP Ares it's a S90v beast.

Kunwu does repeat runs. I expect there will be more batches of Padre especially with the positive response. I missed out on the Timascus add-ons and they did another run of them.

I just pre-ordered mine, and now it's all I can think about lol. I couldn't decide which version I wanted to go with because I really like them all. However, I ended up going with the reverse tux because I just had to experience that polished dlc coating. I'm so stoked... March can't come quick enough

It takes forever to get stuff from Kunwu since they’re overseas. I ordered a Padre a few weeks ago and haven’t gotten it hey. I know it sucks but be patient and it’ll come

I just use the green compound that came with my strop. But I’m about to get into diamond spray for it. I hear it’s very good

You can also leave compound off the other side and make that the final raw dog polish.

I visited their site over and over so many times when this was available. I don’t know why but something just kept preventing me from buying. I was about to go for it when I heard the fancy spacer and clip were available and by the time I got to the site, the damn knives were gone😂. Heard some say it’s actually discontinued so who knows. I haven’t looked for secondary prices yet, but no way I’d pay a markup if there is one after passing at retail so many times.
