I think this is more of an anti-war song, because Tuomas had to do military service and hated it there, and the lyrics are all about how the foot soldiers are the ones to suffer and die fighting a war that isn't even their own. "Man to man, soldier to soldier, dust to dust Call me a coward but I can't take it anymore" definitely not a _rally together and fight_ song Tarja's dark voice sounds so good with this song, the power when she does the machine gun staccatos, damn ma'am. it's also one of my favourites, I rarely ever skip it when it comes up in my playlist :)

I am so glad you highlighted the machine gun staccato section, so many miss it! So clean and precise, another display of Tarja's mastery as a vocalist and for me, such "details" make a difference. I also love the big kick Tarja gives, she is all in !

There's been so much Tarja on channel lately. That makes me very happy. What can I do, I love Tarja both with and without Nightwish. This song was recorded for mini-album Over the Hills and Far Away in 2001. In studio version male part is sung by Tapio Wilska, same one who sang Pharaoh sails to orion with Tarja on From Wishes to Eternity DVD (you have a video with this song on your channel). It is a completely anti-war song, Tuomas describes heavy burden of a soldier who has to kill against his will. In very first verse it says that today he killed eight people and ninth killed was a little boy. He had to kill to keep himself alive. And 10th Man Down is main character who has to live with this burden on his heart even though he is still alive. And he envies nine killed by his weapon.

My most loved version, One of the best songs.

Glad you guys finally got around to doing this Summer Breeze version of 10th Man Down. The Buenos Aires show with Floor is of course great, but this one with Tarja is definitely my favourite. She sounds incredible here, especially that part just after Marko joins in. Absolutely outstanding performance from all concerned in this Nightwish anti-war song. Loved it!

This AI is for just improving image quality, not to draw some capes that won't exist. So that cape was there IRL 🙂I wrote more about this here in the comments.

@@kazfarah7623 yeah, it's quite confusing because we actually do have AI software, which creates images that don't exist, and then we have these smart tools, which just try to be smarter than basic algorithm.

Thank you for the reaction. I love this performance and this concert. Nightwish didn't need lights or effects to be amazing. They are so happy and young. I'm also sorry that Tarja and Marko didn't record more than two albums, but maybe we'll see some of their collaborations in the future. Someday I'll have to ask Nightwish Arena what kind of AI she/he use for remastering. Tuomas with red hair is the best 😀. And even Tarja went through a period with red strands several times. We all love red hair, I hope Alanna stays with it as well :-)

Topaz Video AI was used in this one, and it was made by Mr. ShauningtoN. AI enhancement is for making video quality better, and while it can make up something from it's own mind, that is usually in extreme cases only. AI tries to see things like you see them. People are actually pretty good to clear the image on their mind, and if you could draw as good as you can imagine, you could save almost every video and make them crystal clear 4K videos. And Ai is used for video only. Remastering is for audio, and there were no artificial intelligence...or any kind of intelligence what so ever, just me 🤣

@@NightwishArena Thanks for reccomendation. I'm already looking at Topaz Video AI. What do you use for audio remastering? I have Adobe Audible, but I haven't used this particular program from the Adobe family yet.

@@PetraPola Mostly Reaper, but it doesn't really matter. For audio remastering there are no magic tricks or automation, mainly just multi-band compressor and EQ. Sometimes a pretty darn huge amount of EQ. And sometimes there is a need to fix stereo image or add some reverb too, but usually not.

Amazing song! Yeah, I wish too, that Tarja and Marko would have had more time together.... but maube they have the time now🙃 But I suppose that is part of the reason why they are in good terms now. Back in the day, Marko came later to Nightwish and wasn't really that involved in the inner turmoil in Nightwish. Tarja and Marko were able to forgive each other.

​@@Honken55more I think tired of Tumoas constant moping after Tarja. They obviously can not work like that. Love triangles do not work. Involving himself where it did not belong. Plus no time given to recuperate or live a private life away from a tour. Easier to see Tarja leave as she had already made her intentions known. She was just going to honour her contract. So the label and the band agreed to release her from the rest of the contract. The scheduled break made sense to do it then not in 3 more years. Too much drama which might break up the band for good.

Very little has been said about Hietala in this video. I would like to hear more about him. Well, at least six hours or better twelve to discuss. What would even make many feel sick and the dogs of the neighbors howl.
