My dad bought me one of these when I was in high school. It made me feel like a fairytale character without it going against dress code. Years later and I still wear it with my dresses in the winter to feel like a frolicking snow fairy!

this blew my mind... I actually want to try this but with two coordinated different fabrics, so it's reversible! I usually don't like how most 'wear different ways' things look but these were all super cute! when you turned it into a lil cape my jaw dropped! I'm saving this for when I come across these fluffy throw blankets I've kept for years because I just KNEW they would be perfect for SOEMTHING! aaaa sorry I'm half awake and now I'm just so excited

Okay, so I'm definitely not part of the target demographic here, but I do dabble in cosplay and character creation and that sort of stuff. And I have to say, the very instant I saw just the preview image for this, I immediately thought "Oh wow, that looks EXACTLY like the sort of thing one of my characters would wear!" I'm definitely doing this, though I'm probably going to do black fabric on one side and red and black plaid on the other. It only gets cold sometimes here in Southern California, so this is probably gonna be my number one item to wear this winter

Wow! I didn't think i'd be super impressed when i clicked on the video--turns out to be one of the most impressive little project videos i have seen! And thank you for the tip on how to stitch the border--i wasn't sure how to border fleece but the crochet stitching makes total sense. Now i have some ideas for what to do with some of my snuggly fleece!

I know it says it's a "no sew", but, instead of crocheting the edge, you could do a blanket stitch using embroidery thread. It would achieve a similar finish.🤷‍♀️

I have cheated and done the edging on the sewing machine, used a contracting thread and the biggest stich on the machine .

This just flooded me with fond memories of my childhood. Every time I made something this clever, my father would go absolutely bananas, then my parents door would always get closed -firmly, and they would have these loud conversations but it was impossible to hear what they were saying. I was always making stuff like this too. I wonder where I would come up with these ideas because it was way before the internet was even a thing. I was about the same age as the 12 year old boy in this video too! .....YOU'RE NOT WEARING THAT OUTSIDE!!! Such funny memories from when life was simple!

Ahh, come one! At least 3 of those were pretty much the same! Besides that, the idea was cute! You'd really need to choose your material wisely though, if you don't want those edges to fray with the first wash! Crocheting like that isn't gonna do squat to keep it together! Polar fleece would work well for this, and maybe something like fleece lined knit, but honestly, not much else.
