CUT A SCHOREM CLASSIC: A Skin Faded Scumbag Boogie

Since we hung the Signature Haircuts poster on the wall of @schorembarbier, the Scumbag Boogie has been the most requested cut. It’s the perfect modern classic for so many gentlemen - it can be dressed up or down, it’s easy to style, and it grows in effortlessly. We think it’s also because of the balance between today’s style and the sensibilities of yesteryear. It’s a classic haircut in every right - square, parted, and sweeping away from the face. But with a razor fade and asymmetry, this cut is brought into 2020 with attitude and style.
We did one tutorial on it with the DVD but we have had so many questions we shot a full length breakdown to answer them all. Watch and listen as @milkythebarber sections, fades, and contours this staple onto Martijn - one of the shop’s most loyal customers. Discover the method to his madness, or maybe the madness in his methods!

I've passed my level 2 barbering, been cutting hair for a year now. Just signed up for level 3. Already using these tips from Schorem Barbers in my cuts and it's really helped. Cutting the style into the hair rather than cutting and then styling makes a difference. Would love to visit one day.

As a student this is super helpful. I'm taking classes through a Cosmetology school and none of the educators, except one, are barbers. They're all hairstylists. So KZread videos are all I have to accurately learn mens cuts from. The school had us working bottom to top and it's difficult to get things even, too to bottom works better for me. So thank you for this video.

You ARE doing beauty school, which is more of the hairdressing side of the hair industry so I'd count yourself lucky you even have a barber in your school. Men's cuts aren't as prevalent as they are in a barbershop obviously, as a barbershop is geared more towards men. But I'm coming from a similar place, I graduated in December and I love learning new cuts and styles.

As a haircolorist I’m always wowed by great cutting. I just shared this Master Class with the whole salon. There is so much to unpack in this one video. Point cutting with clippers! Dealing with dips in the scull, using shears, blenders, and razor. Proper wetting, perfect parting, blow drying for max volume. And it’s an asymmetrical haircut. 🎉 your horn. - Timothy Burns, Santa Rosa CA

Outstanding cut. My faded portion might be close to yours in terms of definition, but man, the scissor work and details are something I've never seen before. It really does seem to add some magic to the cut. It's also refreshing because so many newer barbers are clipper jockeys and have no scissor game. Very motivating, awesome work! Thanks for the video
