Ayooo BJD's are honestly the coolest shit though-- I'm too brokeroni and cheese to get my hands on one but man, they're always so pretty and I love how the joints function... so intricate and incredible in craftsmanship

If your able to, some people have free 3d print files for bjds! It’s much cheaper to pay someone to print it for you than buy other ones! Some public libraries also have 3d printers you could rent

This is the video where I discovered what a BJD was, and I think it's neat! It reminds of the old wooden dolls that painters use for poses.

So pretty!!! Also tip for stringing bjds, try and get a large plastic sewing needle or use a ribbon wrapped in tape as a “needle”. And last thing, I really want to see you make a “long furby” style doll, I wanna see what kind of creation you could do with that prompt.

Fabri-Tac is life ! I only use this fabric glue now because it's so versatile. And using dye to color plastic limbs is really smart ! As always, beautiful work !

This turned out so great! I imagine her fluttering around a garden talking quietly to the bees over what flower is the best.

I love this doll with the butterflies wings, butterflies are one of my favourite creatures! Just absolutely gorgeous design!

The result looks really cool! The colours are so pretty and I love the wings!! So creative! I think for the stringing, this doll is a bit more complicated than most BJDs. Usually you don't have to take apart the elastic to get it in pieces, just take out the hooks, which I assume this doll doesn't have. So it was a very rough start for your first one! But you handled it well =3

@maryeet I just wanted to say that yes her version was very unique but if u liked her butterfly dragon some other butterfly dragons u might like are: moriah Elizabeths character rosey the bashful dragon (I forgot the name of the video sry) and a silkwing from (in my opion one of the best book series) wings of fire (and there are lots of wings of fire youtubers you can look at!). So ye I just wanted to let u know about other butterfly dragons bc u liked hers :)

I absolutely love this! It's a combination of two of my favorite things: dragons and butterflies. I had lots of projects that I have either stopped or never started. I can start some but the rest are in the storage unit.

The fact that I don't write anymore is because my story's creature concepts don't go forward and after almost A YEAR I have on my screen how I imagined one of the creatures- you brought my ideas back THANK YOU SO MUCH ♡ Hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷💜

Absolutely gorgeous! You might like some Posca paint markers for details like you did on the wings! Way quicker than a paintbrush. 💕

i LOVE BJD’s so much that i actually started making my own, the only downside is i have no access to a 3D printer so i’m sculpting every piece by hand. it’s SO hard trying to get the pieces to sit perfectly in the sockets when nothing is a perfect circle, i’ve been working for weeks just on the leg socket joints. i’m gonna say, if you are interested in making your own it’s definitely a lot easier to digitally sculpt and print than to do everything on your own.

The little extra wings for the head and tail look so cool!!!! I think if I were to do anything different I would have added some spotting on the body as little accents. Still can't get over how nice the wings looks though, the subtle gradients in the orange add a really satisfying level of depth to the color. Bravo!!!

I love that the doll was named Salvador, no doubt after Salvador Dalí, an amazing surrealist painter, who liked to paint creatures (especialy elephants) with really long, pointy legs. I highly reccomend looking at some of his paintings, they are fascinating.
