Hi Mark, am loving your channel, it is SO watchable as you explain everything with clarity, you also come across as a very conscientious and good man, which is always great to see. When I watch these kind of videos on youtube, I often wonder what the completion price was, but this is often not mentioned. I appreciate that this is actually none of our business as a viewer, but ball park figures/typical costs are interesting for viewers, and I wondered what your thoughts on this were. I hate the fact that you get the odd negative comment on here, some folks are just plain weird!! Anyway, keep up the fantastic videos :)

Nothing wrong with using silicone, no nails, pink grip etc to bed resin trays and I think most manufacturers will now approve this method in their instructions I recently installed a Mira resin tray and the instructions stated that any suitable building adhesive was acceptable 👍

Hello Mark, many years ago whilst working for Warwick District Council as a chippie all bath panels were white hardboard with studding behind, (possibly 50 bathroom's at a time) much easier for cutting around pipes, slotted into the bath groove with a skirting to match existing along the bottom to trap it all in, one of the plumbers I worked with at the time was Nigel Barnett who now runs his own company in Southam I am led to believe

Mark, How many tubes of the sealant did you use on the bottom of the tray? I might try this in my bathroom next year. I am thinking of buying a 800 x 1200 tray. I wanted 900 x 1200 but it’s going into an alcove at one end so too wide. I am having trouble finding a 850 x 1200 tray locally. Great video as usual. Thanks. 👍

For all you apprentices out there. When you have more movement in the tray than the flexible tolerance of the silicone sealant sealing the tiles to the tray will allow then you will get a hairline crack along the first row of grout lines. Simple fix in this case would be to simply tighten the back left hand corner leg, stick a grout removing blade on your multi tool and remove the said grout line along with the silicone sealant along the tray. Tiles would be removed without damaging. Replace saturated plasterboard with backer board, soak tiles to remove old adhesive and replace. Simples. Appreciate in this example the costomer wanted a low profile tray so it had to come out regardless.

i only ever fitted one flush shower tray. that was an 1800mm x 800mm. because of the voids underneath i used a sand cement mixture with flexible tile adhesive. the silicone wouldn't have worked to give it good full bed. i watched a video a few years back and the guy only fits mira flight trays now as the one he fitted cracked in the video.
