    Is this a bootleg "Just Rolled In"? That kid wasn't trying to remove the lug nuts as the narrator said, he was torquing them down.

    the 120 lb mechanic should be taught that turning the lug nuts clockwise tightens them. From the looks of it, and the amou t of grunting he did, he probably overtorqued them.

    Tell me you've never used a torque wrench without telling me you've never used a torque wrench. If you could hear, it clicked every time he torqued it to spec. He just needs to learn about leverage. He could orient it more parallel with the ground, and get his little bit of weight into it and get them torqued easier.

  • @rrizz2050

    @rrizz2050

    24 күн бұрын

    @@robertheinkel6225 I would say one explanation is that they started with an empty hose. there would be alot of air to push out as the hose fills (and yes, surges of water as well). or it was staged in another fashion. I could think of several ways to accomplish the exact same results. The premise that the owner is too cheap to pay a mechanic for 3 seconds to open a drain valve is just ridiculous.

    @@rrizz2050 the boss too cheap to pay to open a draincock every evening thats been standard in every shop ive worked in, but is happy to pay for... work that cant be performed like blowing dust off anything... is happy to afford new compressor tanks every few years. is happy to pay the workers compensation due to inuries sustained when a compressor tank finally fails... is happy to pay increased premiums when tanks explode... yep, something doesnt add up. mind you, i did work at a machine shop that had a refrigerated screw compressor strapped in parallel to the old original compressor, that had its drain fed into the welding bay below, where the airgun had inevitably been chopped off as over the years noone knew what it was for and probably got sick of one of them constantly spraying water... and only water. the loops of poly line amidst the rafters overhead, so every gun delivered exactly what this video was showing... not so bad in a machine shop but had its moments of serious "EFF THIS SH1T" the odd time you wanted something DRY rather than just clear of chips... it was when the sandblaster kept getting hit with gobs of water that they listened to me enough to get that screw compressor... but also chose to be deaf about removing the old unit, and beefing the air lines up from 1/2" to 2". so, despite the new compressor, and dry air (other than contamination from the old tank...), the machine shop that had now been relocated to the next door unit didnt have the air supply to drive the spindle locks and related items, so then there were reserve tanks, and then another compressor... $400 for a 50M roll of 2", versus about 15K on compressors... at some point i left. went back a few years later... (yes, insane, but i liked the actual work?) and the screw compressor was getting serviced. hadnt been touched since i left. all filters were blocked and had to be replaced. then he gets confused as theres still water spitting out somewhere... that will be due to the old tank... and i guess it hasnt been drained for a while, too! yeah... opened that (blocked off and now hidden airline) and pulled over 60L of rusty water from it.... i left again soon after... insane, but not crazy :)
