Found the faulty solenoid then went the extra mile to inspect for any potential additional leaks and proper system function. I wish I lived closer because you are a mechanic I feel I can trust. Getting my car ready for Power Tour and sure could use a bit of help.

Give credit where it's due...I will admit Ray is tech savvy, he's got a keen sixth sense and a 3rd eye when it comes to mechanical and automotive diagnostics, he's honest and owns it when he slips up. But.... when it's comes to carpentry, I'd sooner trust Ray Charles to install my OH door LOL Sorry Ray, couldn't contain myself....that was too easy, just teasin :)
I love the expression "I'm gonna go ahead and condemn that valve" no wiggle room, pure death sentence! No better diagnostician anywhere on this platfrom. He's got the tools and knows how to use them. Amen. You rock, Ray!!

nice diagnostics, thanks Ray. Wish I had a workshop near to me that had such a talented, thorough technician.
Good afternoon Ray. I had this exact part go bad on my Lincoln last summer and was backed ordered for Four months. The old part got so bad every time I got gas for the car, the car sounded like it was farting. Glad when it was fixed. 😊
It was great to see a completed task for a change. The battery cleaning was a bonus. Good video Rainman.

Hey I like that 66 67 retro body style with the back window vents. That looks like Carol Shelby style. Car looking good.
I tell ya I love my Autoline pro smoker. I bought it several years ago it’s only $120 and for DIY guys it’s awesome. And you can use baby oil and add a little scent to it helps with detecting leaks
Just a thought... if you were to hang the Corner of Death door the opposite way, it could open flat against the wall... that way the fan could co-exist with the door without being a potential hazard... and still open outwards as required for fire safety...?
My former Transit 150 van suffered from recurring check engine lights evert few hundred miles. I'd get a small leak code in the evap system. Not having the tools that Ray has, I disconnected the purge solenoid, attached a line to it and blew through the line. I could move air through it when it was closed. I fired the parts cannon and got a new one, I could not move air through it when it was closed. It cured the problem for about $30, no more check engine light for the time I owned it.
It's funny being a retired mechanic, when you were walking up to the car, it was familiar and I remembered you changed a 02 sensor on the car. Before you said what you did on it last time.
So what your telling me is that, no smoke out of your blow hole is a good thing. Awesome!
Glad to see a prosperous looking shop, he deserves it. Been a couple months since I watched.

Oh it’s broken in already. Not by being driven hard by the nurse though. Amazon O2 sensor and in for check engine light with no other info point, the filthy engine bay, ripped and dirty seats among other things point to how it’s maintained. For only 51k miles it’s not wearing well at all. The rotted door panel and what are the dash carpet and filthy steering wheel cover hiding? Poor GT and that fake hood scoop.🤦♂️

I’d take one half the age with twice the miles before I’d buy that one. The lack of mileage is exactly why it frequents the shop. It isn’t driven enough to let all the systems heat and lube properly. Florida humidity causes moisture. The moisture in the evap system is probably what killed this valve. Going for a road trip every once in a while would probably prevent most of this car’s problems. Let it burn off the moisture and get everything hot and well lubed. My guess is that this nurse lives close to their job and probably does 10 miles or less per day. That’s awful for longevity. Especially if they live in Tampa. It’s probably 5 miles each way of traffic jams.
Enjoy tremendously your videos, encourage me to work in my old 22 year dodge truck, I wish I was close o your shop to take of what can't do myself , thxs for the videos
Yeah, the smoker oil smell lingers in my home garage for few days after using the evap smoker. Nasty
Thanks for the info Ray
I used the same battery terminal cleaner and sealant on my car. So far so good.
Blue water pouring fail. 🙁 Now Ray will have to clean it up with non-blue water! Das ist gut! 😊

Good day Ray love the videos hope you have a good day as well
I’d like you to try something that I’ve found amazing. Next time it’s battery crusty clean time pour boiling hot water over the terminals. No digging sediment out of cables just turns to liquid and washes away. No effort. Thanks for the great content!

I heard something completely different a long long time ago. The story goes that Ford and Ferrari were going to combined as one company and Ferrari backed out of the deal. Ford motor company came out with a Mustang, go look and see what the Ferrari Signia is. This was an in your face move over racing. Hence the GT 40. Lots more to it.

Hello Ray, I hope you have a great day
ray i think some cars have a one way valve on the tank side of the fill tube and if i recall mustangs always have them encase they flip
the next thing you could youse is hard piped air lines one in each bay so you dont pinch air line from worker. just a thort ray

When the battery terminals start to corrode like that it is an indication that someone has either impacted the terminal screws on way too hard or hammered the terminals on or mutilated them in some other way Those actions can break the seal between the terminal and the battery case and allow the acid to slowly leak out and corrode the terminal
@carnutal3627
Жыл бұрын
I was wondering about that. My batteries never have any corrosion around them so I was wondering why some do and some don’t. Thanks for the explanation.
