Customer Repair - Peavey Deuce Guitar Tube Amp

A customer and friend (as well as a killer musician) brought me his much loved Peavey Amp in for a repair.
I went right through this one, PSU, solder joints, bias, and fixing the dodgy loudspeaker!
Had to cut this video short, as I lost the footage of me actually finishing it off - sorry! A picture of James collecting the amp is enough of an ending anyway!

I recently bought one of these more for nostalgia reasons than anything else but I want a tech to look it over because it has some oddities. The back plate is labelled for US voltage and there is a mystery switch retrofitted on the back and unlabelled but from looking at a downloaded schematic I think takes two valves out of the power amp set up. That would make sense as it is 120 Watts on full beans and loud enough to demolish castles so cutting it back to 60 would be more than enough for most gigs. The main issue at the moment is that it is only slightly less heavy than the moon so moving it anywhere risks serious spinal displacement. It's lined up for its MOT in January then hopefully i can see what it has to say for itself without being afraid that it will spontaneously undergo a rapid unplanned disassembly.

Fun fact,.. With that amp if you loosen the reverb hold down screws and hit the side of the amp with your picking hand,... It would give you the perfect explosion sounds for Judas Priest's Metal Gods.
Stock tubes: Sylvania 6L6GC. This one is from the 2nd series and features an all-IC preamp.
