As a homebaker myself.. i would suggest u work on ur finishing skills. They are not neat specifically borders.. take it as a positive criticism. Faltu praise nhi karungi.. it would help in ur career

Ideally you shouldn't have given the cake to the customer, if it din't turn out well. Its called professionalism!

I can’t blame that customer, you can clearly see there’s huge difference between the recommended picture and your cake . Jab hum online se kuch purchase karte hai humare dimang mei sabse pehle jo ata hai woh hai purchase kiye huye order kitne accurate honge naki kitne khubsurath . As unki expectations fulfilled nehi huye toh their review was honest, but yeah acche se bhi bol sakte the . But you need not to feel sad because insaan gaalti sehi sikhte hai . Baas agli baar se dheyan rakhna ki jo chees 19/20 bhi nehi ho payegi uski order mat lena . Best of luck ❤

I am homebaker too… personally the cake looks good…. But looking at the occasion it was their 25th anniversary so the customer does have an high expectation…. The picture given was full fondant with sugar flowers and lace on the top tier…. It is important as a baker to let the customer know that you are making it in cream. The cream cakes no matter what give a look that a fondant cake has.. Good luck for the next order😊

Dear , that cake decoration is made of fondant(im 90%sure!). No wonder you couldn't replicate it with cream. However, you could have used Rose nozzle (not rosett nozzle) to give that petals effect. Also you could have tried to use the exact colours from the photo. Anyway its still looking beautiful but sometimes customer want what they want. Aur Apani galati manana bhi bahot badi baat hoti hai. Every one in the comment section is like it's okay the cake is acceptable, having a bad review from customer is normal in the long career. What ? Seriously? . Okay honestly speaking I will accept this type of cake which look like that (a kid make it) for a Small party OR for just for eating. But for a big party I will never gonna accept this type of cake . The birthday and anniversary donot come again and again in a year it's very special moment for a person . And I do not want to ruined my special day for this type of cake . 😢

The cake is pretty along with the front floral white design. It kinda feels empty without it. On the whole it wasn't bad looking to be rejected. Well, to each his own, but I thought the shades of pink were lovely even though they weren't as refined or as pretty as on the picture.

Hii Soumya, you did so well!! It looks very pretty❤ small tip: it is better to use 3 or 5 sticks it will be a more stable support under the cakeboard of the upper tier.

Mam the design cutomer have given to you i made with fondant. M also a cake artist. That bottom tier is covered with fondant handmade frills(ruffles)not with nozzles. And upper tier designing is stencil work shown in the picture that customer have shared.

Although the techniques and the medium ( you’ve made it in fresh cream) that you’ve used are different than that of the cake in picture which your customer shared . ( all fondant cake with ruffled bottom ) It’s ok. Being a homebaker I completely feel the struggle behind . But this is how We learn from our mistakes and this is how we grow. Keep working hard and keep growing . As we all know hardwork never goes waste. I loved the way how you accepted your mistake with a wide smile on . Keep up the good work. ✨

You can take some professional courses related to baking, decorations fondant cakes etc it will help you to makes cakes more professionally and one more thing try to learn colors mixing or making techniques for smooth colors btw you doing great jop so keep it up girl 🙂👍🏻

Cake pyara lgg rha aur aisa bilkul bhi ni bna tha jisse reject kr diya jaye.....overall dekhne mein acha lg rha cake ab exact copy paste koi bhi ni bna skta . Customer ka bad luck jo unhone itne ache cake ko reject kiya.

Reasons why they rejected it : first the food colour is looking bright. It should be of 4 types and decoration should have been each line by line. You chose hot pink based colors. They were going for more of rosy mauve vibe with some rusty maroons. And the layers of the cake were also more compared to only 3 layers. Just my thoughts. You can always try it out and check yourself

Aapne waise kaafi achcha cake banaya hai. Customers ko bhi samajhne ki zarurat hai ki internet pe randomly koi bhi exclusive design ko exactly copy karna difficult hota hai kyunki most of the time wo cakes buttercream mein hote hain aur waise exact finishing ya even piping technique whipped cream mein kaafi baar possible nhi hota hai.

Di I am also a home Baker and the design which you have showed sent by them ( niche wala cake ka) is made of fondant .You have to mold the fondants exactly in the same manner like a petal.... And even you can use rose petals over there .Have a good day

The top layer of the cake is crooked.It is tilting on one side.I dont understand how anyone can place order of important function without checking whether the person has experience of making such cakes.It is wrong of her to accept such an order.U cant experiment like this.Can u take a bridal hair n make up order if u r not experienced or confident.Same logic to be applied here.

Dont use those roses. Use different type. Also, photo mein real roses nahi hai. Wo hath se banake rakha hai waha. If u search for fancy cakes with roses they are very different from these. Ye wale cake par ache nahi dikhte. Niche pink ka design flat nozzle se banaya hai picture me aur wo costly butter cream hai whipping cream nahi

Telling your demerits on screen takes guts and you have that👌

As a baker/cake decorator myself - the photo that the customer sent was of an all fondant cake with lots of fondant details. The technique in bottom tier of that cake is called "ruffled effect fondant cake." But you did the cake in fresh cream and I personally think you did a great job trying to replicate it using a different medium. The top tier could've been more straight for sure, but for the price I don’t think they should've rejected it. Maybe next time you can tell the customers that you cannot make exact cake design they send but it'll be similar. ❤

Exactly thats apparent that its fondant i have worked as a baker for 2.5 years and its our duty to tell the customers that we can never replicate a cake 100 perfcent its gonna be different no matter how simple or complicated the design is but i hope she will learn this with time

​@LastMinuteRecipe I was referring to the bottom tier in the reference photo, hard to tell what the top tier was, but given the flowers were sugar flowers and bottom was all fondant, I'm assuming the top tier was covered in fondant as well.

I'm a home baker.... Actually you did the decorations with cream bt in photo the lower cake was decorated with fondant.....and the upper one with stencils...Thats why it doesn't match ..... Bt it's fine sometimes it happens....
