Customer CAN'T believe the PRICE! MOBILE MECHANIC charged how much?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today we got a call for a belt adjustment on a 2001 Chrysler Sebring. The customer stated the shop he took it to said that's all it needs but they don't have the tools to do it. Sounds a little weird, unfortunately for the customer we find out that wasn't the case... Watch and find out how much the repair cost.

I learned autobody repair in college back in 1981. I decided to truck drive instead of using my trade. I went back in 2012 to relearn the trade. Due to clearcoat painting. My mom had a brain tumor so I decided to take a job as a school bus driver to take care of her. I learned to work on cars for other bus drivers because most of them could not afford the high dollar labor of shops. So I basically did repairs for cost maybe a little more. I am glad I could do this for them. It kept me out of trouble. Thanks for being generous friend.

Hi Robert. I had a old lady in church with a disabled husband a few years back, I went over to their apartment and replaced all 4 brakes pads and rotors. Gave them their cash for the parts back when i was done, no labor charge. Husband passed away a couple months later. Always great when you get to bless somebody. Your generosity will come back around through this channel for sure

I'm a retired locksmith from Boston. You're an honest man like me, it always comes back to you one way of the other and if it doesn't right away, it will in some way. People like him deserve a break. I was in business for 33 years but due to health issues retired last fall. I've done quite a bit of free work and helped people over the phone when needed. It always warms my heart seeing this, bring back memories. God Bless!

I went to school for HVAC back in the 80s. I couldn't in good conscience do it for a living residentially. So on the side, weekends or after work I'd do word of mouth repairs for older neighbors and etc. Replacement of Capacitors, Condenser motors, sequencers, and general cleaning. I never charged the systems 😜. Just limp them along and tell the to always change or clean the filters. There was no money in that. The elderly on fixed income... I got to meet a few Granddaughters 😅.

@@QualityMobileAutomotive You are more than welcome. I wept when I viewed you're video. I was blessed by the opportunity more than twenty years ago to help my father following the death of my mother. He was 76 at the time, and always thought, (as he was almost ten years her senior,) that he would be the first to go, he was wrong, and un-prepared emotionally to deal with loosing his wife of more than 50 years. At the time we where separated by more than 1500 miles. I had just become the youngest of five sibling's, as my younger brother had very recently passed away. Of the four remaining, I was the only one unmarried without children, and so able to drop everything and go to look in on my father. What I found was a man who could no longer make it up and down the stairs to his basement. I determined that there was no way, if it was in my power, that I would see my father moved out of his home full of memories, and into some home. For 8 years I saw to it that his house would be his final home. One day, he was out pruning the hedges in front of the house when he collapsed. I phoned an Ambulance that arrived within minutes. (a small town) I followed the ambulance to the emergency room, arriving as he was being rushed in to examination, the woman at intake immediately calmed me and pointed out the attending emergency room doctor that was entering the examination room after my father, stating he was the best they had. I remember looking at him and thinking to myself, "he must be in his late twenties", "how much experience could he have?" "he is no more than a child". Perhaps 15 min passed, (an eternity) when the young doctor emerged from the examination room, walked straight to me and said this. "You are the son?" "Yes," I replied. "Your father is comatose, (unresponsive), He has suffered a massive aneurism in his abdominal aorta. In cases such as this, the pain is far to great, and so the brain simply shuts down to deal with it." "He looked around, and in a soft and low voice, said the following." "I lost my father last year," "and never had a chance to say goodbye". I could loose my license to practice for this, so I ask you to please keep it to yourself." I nodded. "If I administer a large dose of morphine, I believe your father might come out of it for long enough for you to say goodbye" "He said," "I'll be right back, wait here." He disappeared back into the room, and a few minutes later emerged and said, "He can't speak, but I can see that he is lucid", you only have a few minutes so go on in, I'll wait outside" What I said to my father is personal. I will always be ashamed of my initial thoughts about this young resident. As I will be forever in his debt, and he in my prayers, for having had the opportunity to tell my father goodbye. I'm also so grateful he did not have to suffer in a hospital room for an extended period. It was all mercifully quick and relatively painless (from his perspective). The Universe sent me an Angel that day. I am eternally grateful. Sincerely: J.T.U. Sometimes the smallest of things can matter in the largest of ways. My hat is off to you sir. In the largest of ways.

This is one of the cool things about platforms like KZread. You can make the decision to help out a nice old guy in need and it doesn’t have to come completely out of your pocket. Sure you could have charged him a fair price, but by doing this for free, you absolutely made his day, created a compelling video, and ended up getting donations in return (which allows other people to feel good about chipping in to help). The same job got done, but you created way more value in the world.

*When I was a Computer Tech Supervisor I would do my best to balance my company's goals with helping my customers save as much as possible. When I took the role, the department was in the red and the customer service scores were in the low 40s. Within a few months, we were meeting our goals and I helped raised our customer service scores to the 80s. Before I left, we were smashing goals and our score was in the 90s. I did this all by helping our customers. I would throw in some extras when I could, code in a less expensive sku that still made sense and used coupons when available. I bet that department tanked when I left.*
