Looking at getting a tikka and building a 7saum probably off a 7 rem mag model. Also big fan of tract optics too! I have a couple!

I'm building the same 7SAUM on a long action but started with a 7REM mag so no mods necessary. Good work 👍

does tikka tsx come in a long action 7saum so you dont have to modify them?

Thanks! Tikka actions are very very hard to come by in magnum form and I now know any tikka action will work. Tikka actions are also very true as well, a lot better than the rem 700, so having a gun smith "blueprint" the tikka action is not necessary in most cases.

Probably because most people like what the gun rags (and now the internet hags) tell them to like. Very few actually research and think for themselves.

Yeah, I'm very interested in a 7 SAUM as well, mainly because I like the number 7 and every "long range" shooter at my ranges are all shooting 6.5 Creedmoor...I just have to be different (grin). Many say it's a dead cartridge or not popular, yet all the gun shop owners and employees in my area have at least 1 or 2 rifles in that cartridge.

Get some steel shim material and replace that paper.

So THE TIKKA T3X 308 , is that donor rifle to be looking for? or any tikka action can be converted to the 7 saum? Great video by the way...

couldn't you accomplish this with a mid length action as well?

Ive seen a table with about 6 different Tikka actions listed ( I had assumed due to receiver length in different models) so you are saying all Tikka models have the same length Magwell and ejection port and the length of the bolt throw is only determined by the bolt "stop" as it is that sits on the edge of the receiver, so both short action and long action cartridges are ejected at the same point as that would not change by changing the SA bolt stop to the LA Bolt stop?

Would this mean I can fairly easily convert my 300wm tikka t3 to shoot .308? bolt face, chamber, essentially everything could stay the same (besides the bolt stop and magazines)
