Custom SAB RAW 580 Canopy

    It's good to know that SAB Group do custom canopies. What put me off the RAW 580 is the fact that I'm red-over-green color blind, & SAB Group didn't make any other color options available, like what they did with their original Kraken 700. Around about 2009, I had a red canopy on one of my older helicopters & I couldn't figure out for the life of me why I kept crashing it, whenever I was flying it with trees in the background. Yet, with my other two helicopters at the time (of which had bright yellow canopies) I could fly them perfectly fine. All three helicopters were perfectly fine & mechanically sound. I looked into it again 2 years ago, when I got AccuRC & in that simulator, I picked a helicopter with a red canopy & found that the very second I started flying in a map where there's any sort of foliage in the background, my eyes would start seeing the helicopter as though it's black all over, & I'd lose sight of the helicopter & ultimately crash it. But, when I brought the helicopter high enough so that the sky was in the background, I could see it perfectly fine. I did this with three different helicopters (T-Rex 550, Oxy 5 MEG, & Tarot 550) all with similiar setups, & the same rate profiles. Again, crash after crash, almost within seconds of there being foliage in the background. I did the same test with three different helicopters that had yellow canopies (SAB Goblin 700, SAB Goblin Kraken, & OMPHOBBY M2 V2), & I flew them perfectly fine. No crashes whatsoever. Soooooo.... yay, me. I'm red/green colorblind. =v/.v=

    Hey Chris.....they do make the Raw 420 skids in white as well.

    I ordered them. Accidentally ordered the Buddy 380 ones first before the RAW 420 ones came out.

    Hey Chris. Different topic questions. But as someone that is coming back in after years of flying, eventually when I’m ready to move up to something bigger from my S2, between the 420 and 580. Which one would you suggest? Is it worth investing a little more to get more size, or is the direct drive nature of the 420 much easier to work on for someone’s first build coming back into flying. Both of these are a thought pick for me…

    Old canopy that dropped out cuz the new canopy is so brightly yellow and it just killed the old one!!! 🤭🤭😂😂😂😂
