Went to an autogain system recently to give it a try.... and I miss manual gain, for sure. Great upgrade to the DTNVS but I'm waiting for the WANGLE-MG variant AiB says is coming this year.

Same. But I tried manual IRIS. I like it more than manual gain. But it's very ugly for sure. So I definitely miss Manual Gain

are the WANGLE's supposed to be the same as the DTNVS with the add-on of WFOV lenses?

What tubes to they take exactly? 11769 with the pigtails? Or do they need an EGAC? I believe the LLI MH-1 takes the pigtail. Curious about the DTNVS MG

I would like to ask the NVD PHD which combo he feels is more effective for most use cases, manual gain or auto gain & an adjustable iris. I tried a set of adjustable irises on my 1531's and found that combo had too many "fiddle fuck" points of control & adjustment.

I prefer manual gain dude. The Iris solution provides increased depth of field, she simulated manual gain is more of a byproduct.

@@customnightvision yes, I understand an iris is not the same as manual gain. I was asking if the combo of auto gain and an iris would be "better" for the average user vs manual gain alone. having both seems like too many things to fiddle fuck with

Of the manual gains would you pick this one, MH-1 or the Manicore?

digital push buttons and the electronics to manage them seem like an unnecessary failure to point to me. The simplicity of an analog gain knob is fast and easy to adjust in the dark with a gloved hand and you can easily dial an exact setting (no stepping like a digital button). This or the MH1 seem like the smarter bet.

I’m waiting a manticore fcr right now. If I remember to, I’ll update you about how I feel in regard overall satisfaction and the digital controls in about 2-3 weeks

I have DTNVS with L3 tubes (10160?). I'm assuming I'd need new tubes (11769) if i were to swap to the MG, right?

@@customnightvision just checked my spec sheet, they're 11769 L3 18UA's (Part #: 11769UW-EA-C001-18UA). I'm no tube expert but they should work with manual gain, right? been bummed this whole time thinking they were 10160's
