Great video! Very well done customs. It amazes me that fans can spend countless hours dedicated to producing a quality product like this to be hated on by other collectors. Then the same collectors will rush to the store to buy a new re-released replica of a 30 year old vintage figure. Based on what I see in this video this person should be respected for the quality product they make. I say well done and great work!!

That's weird - my childhood Luke in Stormtrooper disguise has a turning head. I do remember it being stiff at the time, but it definitely turns.

As long as they aren't trying to deceive, I don't see an issue with repros. These are very nice examples of repros done right.

Love watching these retro toys getting reborn !..Amazing Repo's always loved StarWars...but i had a bad time with losing my Collection when i was young...My Parents used to have Students and this one french students back in 1980s after staying at our house returned to France and knew i loved Starwars so he sent me an entire original collection of the stars figures from the 1977 movie..i loved them so much and took them everywhere..so i would even take the collection to School in my bag and was unlucky enough to get them confiscated at the start of our School holidays by some Victorian style Teacher in never liked....they were placed in a stockroom and when i returned after the six weeks school holiday my entire collection was stolen from the Stockroom..still wonder to this day what happened too them..these videos are awesome !..

Very nice repro figures! The Han Stormtrooper looks genuine and the card and coin look so cool and nostalgic!

They do look spot on, money's tight at the moment otherwise i'd be looking to get a Han asap!

Great video. Carded Han Solo was lovely. Don't collect vintage anymore but it was nice to see. I probably wouldnt buy reproductions but I like to see what people come up with. Some talented people out there.

I really like these. And I agree. I am glad these exist. I always try to get the official licensed stuff when possible. However a lot of these products have become unreasonably expensive. And people/artists who go the extra mile to create these and go the extra mile to make sure they can't pass for originals fill an important niche. And I am happy to support them. Great work!!! Luke Skywalker is NOTHING without a blaster, haha! These are amazing!!! Don and I found an original one without a helmet here in Japan with the cardback at a hole-in-the-wall shop here in Tokyo last week, it was an outrageous price even without the helmet, so definitely going to have to pick up one of these repros!!

I like the fact that I can display them and not have to worry about preservation . They will probably outlast me.

I bought these figures loose on eBay. They arrived today. The quality is outstanding! I do have a few complaints though. Luke's flesh tone is the obvious one. But my biggest complaint is the arm's and leg's are not the softer plastic. It's the same hard plastic that the body and head are made of. I'm afraid if I put the weapon in on a wrong angle that the fingers might snap off or something. I'm extra cautious with my stuff, but accidents can happen. I'm seriously considering sending Luke & Han along with two old stormtroopers to see if he can swap out the arm's and leg's for me. The only thing holding me back is I paid a lot of money for these, lol. But I seriously think that this is the one thing that'll make them pop! Plus it would make for an interesting video, lol.

The flesh tone is the same as the original. And you can still bend the arms. Some vintage figures have hard arms, it depends on the factory they came from. Hope that helps.

I recently got the Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper disguise and love it. They only thing I was wondering about is why the font of "The Power of the Force" is squashed and larger than on the original cardbacks and even other Stan Solo recreations. I got the R2 pop-up lightsaber first, about a year ago, and that the font looks much more like the original. Just curious if anyone noticed or knows why the font is the way it is.

They are shinier than the real ones.

Man... I wished that image of Han was used on the new modern VC card released. I was quite disappointed with it 😕 such a shame. These are great customs though! ! 👍👍👍

Makes you almost feel bad for complaining about how modern Luke sculpts look! I mean, I love classic toys, but that looks nothing like Mark Hamill:)

true but back in the day we never complained, it was all we had and it was close enough plus the old toys were durable. i never once saw a kenner toy busted while still sealed in package .

Chris has plans on producing rebel fleet trooper, reproduction blue Snaggletooth, and slave Leia. It's going to be awhile, though.

If there's a Tarkin coming I wonder if these will eventually be produced too with the rereleases.

Ahh, the evergrowing addition 2 the troops.

The Han one is great but they are very pricey for being repros. I appreciate the quality and function but would rather buy a loose vintage Luke and swap the head.

I agree they are not the cheapest. But even a beaten up luke will cost you pretty much the same at the moment. And I have never seen a luke as white as this in all my years of collecting.

I am afraid I agree with Welshy... The figure is very cool indeed, and it is specially interesting because it is a costume that was never released. But the price is way overboard for a repro in my opinion. I see that it was marked as $107 and they have allready lowered it to $97. Repros should most definitely not fetch those prices...

@Alaricsraid II I've seen yellowed stormtrooper Luke figures going for several hundred dollars, so I'm not complaining. Kenner never produced a Han stormtrooper for the 1985 POTF line, so the one featured in this video isn't a repo.

me personally don't mind repros as long as it looks like the original it does not bother me, some time the originals cost to much and as long as you are enjoying it then the hell with every one esle

Those look to be quality repo's. If only he also did other figures like Yak Face & Blue Snaggletooth, that'd be awesome.

Are these in any way related to Mark Poon? Lol... Yeah, my Luke Stormtrooper is a touch yellow too, missing his helmet as well, but I didn't pay a lot for him. I picked him up CHEAP along with a Yak Face in the late 90's for a few pounds...

I see nothing wrong with repro figures for people who want them to display alongside their classic vehicles. PROVIDED they are not trying to pass them off as originals. Incidentally, there used to be a shop in Norwich (I think) that did custom Star Wars figures that were die cast/white metal, which you painted up yourself. They did a very nice Han Stormtrooper, Cantina Band member and Slave Leia as I recall.

Do the carded figures say they are reproduction? Would be good if they did. Someone’s going to buy that on eBay for a partner and get ripped off thinking it’s from the eighties. At least those boxes said they were made by replicator boxes.

Luke Skywalker old and new looks like he has the head of a ten year old. Lol on the Han coin it would've been funny if it said "in Han we trust" lol

I seen a complete restoration of a Optimus Prime G1 on your channel. What better the toy restorer in this subject. I dont feel the date stamp reduction is enough. dont some SKUs have the marks gone already? I love the concept though, but the star wars collectors scene is such high value, that this seems kinda dangerous

I especially love "reproductions" that are making figures that never actually existed. I always wanted a han in storm trooper gear figure back in the day. I would love to see someone release custom based on the old style of characters from the newer trilogies as well. I don't like that if I want any of the new characters they will look "off" next to the old ones. And part of me is shocked that Hasbro hasn't at least done it with the main characters of each movie as some sort of collectors edition. Especially given the success of those Super7/ReAction figures.

They look really nice but £40 is steep.

Compared to current prices for an original luke in good condition, these are actually cheap. Prices are out of this world at the moment. Too much for me.

I’m a little worried about the helmets being passed off as original. I think customs are fine but these are stealing someone else’s intellectual property no matter if they aren’t made anymore. If they get in to the wrong hands, they could be passed off as original.

yes, it may be a problem, but seriously who will care of that when our generation is 80 years old. Next generation won t pay 1 dollar for those plastic toys . So enjoy the hobbie, expensive or cheap i don t care no more, just interested in the fun to collect.

The problem with these is people will buy them and then try to sell them as vintage and mint on card and online or even at a flea market or swap meet you always have people scamming others

Reproductions are damaging to the collecting community. While die hard collectors will know the slight differences between them new collectors and those less educated will be scammed with these eventually. While you may not do it the person who sells it next might. I can’t afford some of the last 17 so I don’t have them it’s not a big deal I’ll find them Affordably some day or I won’t but I won’t go repro. But to each there own
