That little edge is exactly what makes me leery of Shaker cabinets for the same reasons you mentioned. Thank you for making me aware of this option!

Thank you for another great and very informative video. Can I ask you a couple of questions? Did you use the Super/Smart Matte finish on your doors. Also is there an additional charge for having the back of door finished in the same paint color? I ask only because my husband and I are renovating a home and are using Ikea cabinets but just like you want a custom look. I love the weight and feel or Dendra doors compared to other companies who specialize in making custom fronts for Ikea. This is much harder decision than I thought it would be...lol. I really enjoy your videos and I have learned so much from your channel..THANK YOU!

Hey Kimberly- thanks for watching, and always leaving a great comment! I have the Supermatte finish on these doors- time will tell how that works for us. They definitely are more matte than the GRIMSLOV doors I have on the other cabinets in my kitchen. I do believe there is a slight charge for color matching the backs (I'll get back to you on this!). I do have to say there an an awesome feeling door so far. I have the install video coming out soon with a few more remarks on their products. How does custom compare to similar style of IKEA’s front in price?

It can vary widely depending on manufacturer. However, you can usually budget for a slightly increased price for a similar style. Somewhere in the 1.2-1.5x the cost. The benefit is then colour selection and at times availability.

My recent experience with Dendra was horrible. I did 2 projects with them and Kat was great. The product was actually good. Now Kat is gone and the new guy "Braden" is useless. He has ZERO customer service experience. After 8 weeks of waiting for a quote from Braden I gave up. He is "absent" and doesn't respond well to any feedback or criticism. I gave up on ever getting a bid from him and went out for rebids. I got bids from Scherr's and the Cabinet Face within 3 days. Don't bother with Dendra go to someone who actually wants your project!

This is very interesting feedback as a client of mine had the same experience. Kat was great and we worked on several projects together without a glitch. Too bad as the product is great 🤷‍♂️

@@hsdesignstudio I liked working with Kat and their product was very good. I have a kitchen and a bar area done with Dendra doors. The rest of the house will now be done by Scherr's. I am not sure why Dendra is dropping the ball on repeat customers like me. I concede my order was complicated - custom slab mahogany veneer with grain matching - but the other two suppliers had a bid to me in 2-3 days and Dendra only got back to me after I wrote them to let them know they had lost the order - after 8 weeks. Braden couldn't understand why I was upset. He is clueless.
