@@pwnisher Done! Yow, I followed this tutorial and was able to make this kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpt_yKaiktbPlbQ.html. A little bit rusty on the motion tracking side of things but I was able to create a somewhat realistic render in blender. Custom HDRIs are sick. I've thrown in a reflection pass as well. Awesome stuff.

Thank you Clint! I was asked to shoot HDRIs for a production and I'm completely new to it. I've seen folks do it on Corridor Crew and felt like it made sense to me, but trying to do it myself has been daunting. This is the cleanest, least scary tutorial I've found and I'm currently stitching my first one together right now. Wish me luck!

Hei.. Love your new channel. I love more detailed education content like this. ❤️
no body makes this detiled tutorials like you in these subjects thank you clint
Fantastic video. Love all the detailed info. Clint and the Corridor Crew always rock it. I'm on a tighter budget, though, and those Insta360 are in the $400-$500 range, so I'll stick to my DSLR and the whole "find the nodal point" thing. I stitch with Hugin and create the actual HDRIs with Luminance HDR (both OpenSource -- like I said, I'm on a budget, but these two are really great and my work doesn't suffer.) Having your nodal point means you can get away with less images. Also, since Hugin has pretty powerful lens-correcting tools, I can make wider-angle shots. There's a number of alternate workflows for us indie folks/FLOSS lovers, thankfully. Just my $0.02.
Yo, props on that The 3D & Motion Design Show video!
This is great, i've been using external tools all this time, photoshop seems way more complete. Love the short videos man! Another method is photographing a chrome ball, it will not give the level of the detail as a 360 camera, but for quick and dirty hdris it works quite well, especially if you're on a tight budget.

That's SUPER cool. Don't know if I like the "Bob-Ross-Chill-Voice" On you, but I'll roll with it! :)
Glad to see you're making more videos, Clint! I was just asking about a good 360 camera for shooting IBL and Wren recommended I watch this. I really like how simple the process is, it makes it a lot easier when you're working by yourself. The result looks good, too! It looks like you can also use the camera to shoot 360 video, since I see your reflection moving in the intro shot. Pretty exciting stuff, I hope I can get one of these and try it out someday soon.

BTW, I made a little animation test render for it that you might enjoy- you can find it pinned at the top of my Twitter page (and you can find a link to that on my YT channel banner and "about" section). Would just link here but don't want it to get flagged as spam, haha.
Love your videos bro its easy to understand but will miss you at corridor
Yes! Been waiting for this for a long time! I use custom HDRIs but there are a few tricky things about it! The Dynamic Range for a cloudless sky is problematic, actually, because it makes my stuff in the scene blue, because the hdri catches the color of the sky, while video camera does not and it's blown out.
@pwnisher
4 жыл бұрын
But this is a good thing. You want the full range of light and color. You just need to composite the HDRI in your 3D program to match it to your footage. I'm actually live on c4dlive.com walking about this process right now. Come hang.
