Custom Finished Basement Walkthrough 2018
Ойын-сауық
This is a follow up video to my basement Bar Build. I have roughly 15k in the entire basement from wiring and drywall to projector and surround sound. All work was done by myself except the granite install and finishing the drywall and I’ve never done something like this before. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Very nicely done! Using it as inspiration for my husband's mancave!
You've created a nice basement area. Anyone would be proud to invite guests over, to be entertained there. Good job.
Really well done! The LED lights are the icing on the cake. We’re about to move into a new house with a finished out basement with no corner bar. It’s plumbed and ready to go so looking for inspiration. Great build!

Pretty sweet room. Get some acoustic treatment (fibreglass or rockwool panels) on the walls in theatre area and directly on the backwall (the wall directly opposite the screen), and some clouds just above the seating area for the cinema. It makes a huge difference.

very, very nice....you did a great job man, i would just say that you could maybe build a riser for the second row of theatre seating...but that might cause a line of sight issue from the bar!
@savemoneydiy87

Thanks. I debated the riser but instead raised the screen enough that I didn’t have to worry about anything. Also when we have a lot of people over I spin the back row around to face the pool table for more seating.

Looks great. Can you explain more of how you did the ceiling? Armstrong’s site says you can’t cut these and need a square ceiling. Did you have to do a sheet rock coffer in the sides or how’d you do the sides if it’s not square?

Thanks. I appreciate it. The whole basement is approximately 1500 sqft.
How do you like the mini split?? I’ve been debating on going that route instead of the traditional HVAC to save money.
@savemoneydiy87
4 жыл бұрын
I like it a lot. I installed it myself so that saved a lot of money. I don’t really think it changed my power bill more than 10 bucks a month.
Love the bar. Building something very similar now. What did you use for the actual wood bar top?
@savemoneydiy87
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It was a 4x8 piece of oak plywood. I explain more detail on the bar itself in my other video if you care to watch it.
Was their already water supply lines for that bar sink? I am trying to figure out how to get water and drainage to a room with no existing lines For my own project.
@savemoneydiy87
5 жыл бұрын
No there wasn’t. My water lines and septic lines were in the ceiling of my basement. I tapped in to my water lines and ran them to the sink. My sink has a pump under it and it pumps to the ceiling as well and I tapped in to the main house drain with it. Hope this helps. Any other questions let me know.
Love how the bar came out! I am building one now using the same Lowe’s base cabinets. What’s the bar height you went with?
@savemoneydiy87
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I appreciate it. I went with a 42” height.
Amazing room, you did an amazing job. Question about the dart board...what do you have the board attached to and I thought I saw some kind of airplane sized liquor bottle, possibly for holding the darts?
@savemoneydiy87
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The dart board is on some wood I found at work. I took a torch to it to burn it a little. And yes the darts are in little bottles of fireball that I cut the top off of.
Great work man! How is the epoxy holding up on the bar?

Your 2 zones of audio, how does it play 2 different audios at the same time? Does it require a 2nd small receiver for zone 2? Also, what kind of speakers did you go with?
@savemoneydiy87
3 жыл бұрын
Its one receiver. The receiver itself sends a separate audio signal to channel 6 and 7 based on whatever source is selected. I went with RSL speakers. Hope this helps.

Awesome basement man, Love the tile wood look floor. Im thinking of doing the same.. I feel Tile is more solid than laminate or engineered hardwood for the basement. That and maybe some area rugs. @savemoneydiy87

Thanks I appreciate it. They are fairly expensive. Each tile is $10 plus you have to buy all of the grid material. It’s not very hard to put up you just need to get your pattern/layout right in the beginning.
Out of curiosity, where did you pick up your theater seats?
@savemoneydiy87

You know what would be cool man is a retractable shade or curtain right behind the projector. You can mount it on the ceiling and have it remote controlled it will really bring out the quality of your video and overall image when you’re watching a movie or a game.
@savemoneydiy87

Yeh a curtain behind the back chairs was in the original design but the projector has a bright cinema setting and is fine when it’s light out. I typically only watch movies when it’s dark so it doesn’t matter too much.
