You just described me to a team and what my purpose is for the most part only I’m gonna be using it on a trailer for camping. But this is exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you.

What I do now is just rent a trailer from tractor supply. You get one of their nice aluminum trailers for $25 a day. If you don’t keep it a day then it’s $12. So now I don’t own a trailer and just go get one of those when I need it. 98% of the time I get by only paying $12. It’s a pretty nice option for anyone needing a trailer and it’s better than going home and getting a trailer and loading up. Instead I can go strait to where I’m going with the trailer rented on the fly.

This was truly what I needed to see, I want to put a wheel chocked inside but not permanent. That gives me the option of removing it. Very helpful thanks

Wow man. What a great setup!! I build custom Minibikes and have been just lugging them in and out of the back of my truck by hand. I've recently started to get into the larger Coleman bikes that I'd bought ramps for but it's hard to load and unload them. I want to also get into motorcycles so the efficiency, simplicity and price with this is perfect!! I didn't know I needed to have it till I seen it 🤣 thanks man I appreciate it 💯

My man, I literally have been searching for this exact same method to get my bikes in the bed of my truck. I also didn't want to drill in my bed for the chock or mount the winch. I have a higher truck and wanted to utilize a winch for my heavier cruiser. This video checks all of my needs! Thank you!

You can set it up to just use a set of jumper cables you can easily hook to your trucks battery whenever you need to power your winch

I use a set up almost like yours to load my bikes. I solved winch power with a very heavy set of 16 ft jumper cables and just go from my truck battery over the roof to my truck , then it charges the winch battery as I drive, pretty easy. My ramps are two 19" wide by 10 ft folders that are rated for 1200 lbs each. I walk up one while the bike goes up the other as well, the ramps clamped together and strapped to the hitch for stability. Makes loading a 500 lbs bike a piece of cake for a 70 year old guy LOL My winch mount goes into the holes at the top front of the bed using a two by four and have never had an issue with it even with 560 lbs wet weight bikes, but all of mine will usually have working brakes to unload with. Great job here! my remote control bit the dust though, ugh

Thank You Mr. Genius. I was looking for something more multifunctional. You don't use it like this, but it does. Let me explain. I am a grazy german guy, driving a Chevy M1028 as a daily driver. I am a Biker as well. Your way to winch a bike onto the bed is perfect for me. I do allready have a pair of matching ramps and a "front wheel stand" (or how ever you call it) . I will attach the winch to this "front wheel stand" . I have allready mounted 4 lines of airline rails on my truckbed. My Chevy has 2 12 Volt batteries. One is additional only for glow an start on 24 Volts (military style). I will connect a plug mounted in the bed connected to this battery. Because this Batterie will be charged all the time the motor runs , and it is only used due start. And I can assemble the winch( front wheel stand) at any point and for any reason on my truckbed. And it will fit under my Bakflib cover , that I love so much. Thank's a lot . Charly

Great design. I use something similar , but in no way and shape good as yours. Also I’m not having the necessity to load as much bikes that you do. Also I don’t have a plastic cover on the bed of my pick up truck. I use the same winch mounted on a 2x10 , that runs across the top of the bed and is bolted with one bolt on each side , also strapped down with straps on the bottom with hooks. It is easily removed when not needed. It takes 5 minutes. I have a big semi truck battery ( I had one laying around) that is supplying the power with car jumper cables that I modified.Like Tayler said, the type of ramps that you use is very important . The longer the better. I tried to use the Harbor Freight ones but they are way too short. The one thing I need to add is some guide sides to the ramp to prevent the bike sliding of the ramp , it will make me feel much more comfortable especially unloading the bike. And the ramp needs to be secured to the truck to prevent them from sliding. Thanks for one more great video. Keep them coming.

Nice mate, as others have said I'd probably think about a mid ramp support (prop), doesn't have to be anything flash just to stop the flexing and future cracking so i'd probably use a couple of short lengths of steel box section that can sleeve inside each other, then drill holes through the sides at different places for a pin and E clip to go through to keep the height (which could vary slightly depending on terrain) and the clip would stop the pin falling out. An (Car Exhaust) U clamp with wing nuts could fix the prop to the ramp through the side of the prop. I know I'm not describing this very well but I'm sure you get the idea :) Cheers Rich

good video. You might need to shorten the cable. I have the same winch on my boat...over time, once in awhile, the cable slides to the side of the spool, and once it wraps around the spool axle, is a real pain to pull it free. If you shorten the cable as much as possible, that makes more room for the spool guides to do their job and keep the cable on the spool. cheers!

Great video and excellent setup for loading. As for the wiring setup for your winch you could run a lead cable from your battery through an ignition relay wired to a switch so it would only be hot when you need it as well as having the switch on your dash.

It looks like the back wheel is resting on the tailgate and you can’t close it. Is that safe? I’d worry that it would flap about. Or is it just the camera angle? Neat solution though.
