This started out just like my divorce, but ended on a better note. Kids are not stupid. They know when they are being played. They listen, they watch, and they memorize everything; whether parents want to believe it or not.

I agree with your comment. I had a very peaceful and pleasant relationship with my wife...we never divorced but I know what you mean. I hear very often that children should be kept in secret about marriage issues. I don't believe that is true. Obviously they should be of a reasonable age so they understand. The children are pretty savvy when it comes to issues within the family. In fact I believe if they were told what the issue was they might be an influence in helping to solve the problem...a child's love has a great influence on the parents! I think there is more damage done if it is withheld from them and find out later! Its just a thought I wish you the best!

What a narcissistic jerk. I was married to a narc, but didn’t know it at the time. He was unemployed most of the marriage and became jealous and tried everything in his power to ruin my life. He created a smear campaign and ran into the arms of someone else cause I was so “terrible”. Blessing in disguise he found someone else. After realizing who he was and healing from it I finally have peace and feel sorry for anyone that lets him in.

@@chasitybrock3374 Bad intimacy in a marriage is a sign for: "Something is about to break." Yet, it seems to be that men understand this far better than women. A marriage is of two, the two lose, the two win. If one isn´t ready to fight, than he/she is the one to lose! Love can do miracles. But someone has to want the miracle and believe in it! Greetings.

Many women are doing the same thing even to these days. Can't get ahead in life. Taking it out on their hard working husband. Filing for devorce, to wipe the man out because they're very unhappy. It's very common. It only seems to be a problem when a man is in that state of mind, while we try to make excuses for women when they do this. TH lady in this case did neglect her role in the marriage and she kept overruling him in everyway. If it was the other way around, the man overruling every agreement, society would call it disrespect.

Once the judge has made a decision, family law prevails and the only ones who can alter the terms are the parents themselves through mutual agreement in the best interests of the children. Obviously very few divorces are this congenial and far too many get very very messy because all too often one of the parents is far too interested in hurting the other for whatever transgression set the said trainwreck in motion. As another commenter said, "the ones who suffer are always the children". His fault for feeling "neutered". Hers for not recognising it.

The wife made many of the children's games and events, and frankly most working parents don't make every event if the family wants to keep eating and living in a nice house. And also what judge has any parent relieved of home and custody without social worker level neglect? This is ridiculous.

At the beginning of the movie, you can see that the husband is feeling slightly left out and he adopts a hostile attitude towards his wife. He is just so distant. This was a good movie to watch on a rainy afternoon. The husband made me mad at first but at least they were amicable at the end.

I taught Michael Cera when he was in grade 7. At that time he already had an agent. I asked him to bring in some of the work he was in and this was one of the movies which I showed to the class. A very moving story that I felt should have received more recognition in theatres throughout. Then Superbad came out and that's when he made it in the big league and everyone knew then who Michael Cera was. What you see him as in film is really what his true character is. A lot of class.

People treat their children as possessions, as prizes to be won in a custody battle: "no it's MY kid!", "No you can't have them!", "How dare you take my son!", "I'm keeping the children!" Kids are not objects to fight over. They are human beings who can be scarred for life if their parents play tug-of-war with them. It's sickening!

It is, also, the same for a successful man. He can't have the best of both worlds, either. When it is only one working in the family. This day in time, it does take two to work to keep up a family these.days.

Good example of waiting to start a profession full time until the children are graduated. Teens really need to be home in those vunerable years. If a person desires a profession full time, then don't have children. It's not fair to children to have parents put job first.
