I think it stems from a fear of losing the position. Almedia made this same mistake against Derrick Lewis. He was far too concerned with securing a position, but didn’t bother to inflict any damage out of fear of losing it. It’s an area of his game he needs to fix if he plans on going anywhere

Curtis Blaydes: where is your grappling? Awful match by two overrated heavy weights. How is Blaydes going to beat Aspinall, who's superior in all aspects?

  • @Chi-Man.

If Aspinall rushes in like the first time he could definitely get cracked. If Tom fights more cautiously like he did with Sergei then he'll will make Blaydes look easy. I think it's a harder match for Tom than Jones would be at this point but he still gonna win 😂

Go watch Dan Henderson vs Daniel Cormer. That's entertaining grappling, submission attempts, scrambles, ground & pound. Jailton doesn't try to force errors from his opponent to find openings for a transition. He had all that control time, did no damage and no submission attempts. Please don't defend his boring style.

@@OsamaBinBallin009 hugging/holding someone with your hands locked isn't very impressive. He couldn't even keep Curtis down lol. You want entertaining grappling, watch Charles Oliveria, Brian Ortega, Chase Hooper, Islam Makhachev just to name a few. 1 takedown with activity is actually more impressive than 7 takedowns with none. Mature mma right here.

The legs and hips clearly show how much bigger and more powerful Curtis Blaydes is than poor guy Jailton Almeida. In fact, light heavyweight Almeida faced a freestyle wrestler and a man who is much more powerful, bigger and stronger than himself. Perhaps he really should have stuck to his original plan and competed at light heavyweight, meaning he should have stayed away from true heavyweights. That's where he could have made a splash with his Brazilian wrestling and grappling. As always, the UFC changed everything and may have broken the career of this fighter and outstanding prospect once again. They are generally aware that not so long ago this guy was very small [welterweight (2012, 2016) & middleweight (2017-2018) ] ???

Blaydes the lamest and most boring heavyweight. He gets slept by any of the entertaining heavyweights. Lets see pereira at heavyweight. Against the most boring jones. I only want to see pavolich, aspinall, and at least when lewis and tuivasa wins its entertainment. Lets see the most technical gane make a comeback. Velasquez made this division, and its not the same without him. Sea level cain would have destroyed all these guys.
