Ingredients (材料):
500g (4 cups) pau flour (包粉)
1 1/2 tsp (5g) instant yeast (即溶干酵母)
60g (1/4 cup) caster sugar (细砂糖)
1/2 tsp salt (盐)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder (发粉)
250ml Water (水)
2 tbsp / 30g lard /shortening /corn oil / vegetable oil(2汤匙猪油、白油或玉米油)
Filling (馅料):
2 tbsp oil (油)
1 onion , chopped (洋葱,切碎)
2 sprigs curry leaves (2支咖喱叶)
2 tbsp curry powder (咖喱粉)
3 tbsp Water (水)
300g chicken meat, diced(鸡肉,切粒)
2 potatoes, diced (马铃薯,切粒)
Some water (适量水)
1 tsp salt (盐)
1 tsp sugar(糖)
1/2 tbsp light soy sauce (生抽)

Good morning Kathrine….can we use this same dough to make baked, instead of steamed buns. We normally boil the water before we put in the buns to steam. This is a different approach. Is there any difference with the end effects? Thx

BTW using bao flour supposed to have a white bao. I used Hong Kong flour which is also bao flour, it turn out a little yellowish.

@@KathrineKwa I used flower oil. Think my dough was too soft. Difficult to wrap up the ingredients. After steaming, all open up with a big hole exposing the ingredients.. Very awful.. 😂 Will try again using less water. I can use milk too right?
