I just got back from there and had a good session with a mate

Good video again and keep them coming, but the state of some of the mouths on those fish show that a barbless only rule is not the best way to go

@@mitchtorious9010 Sorry but I have to disagree. Yes, some anglers are not as well educated in fish welfare but the fisheries that insist on microbarb hooks, like the old cemex etc, don`t seem to suffer with this amount of mouth damage.

Another great video and love the look of thoose rods, im just wondering whats the difference between them and the element rods and are the element worth the extra money?

Yea been battered I was there when They drained it as lived down the road . and when they stocked the carp at a few pounds and they have had zero let up since , poor fish ....

Yea I used to fish the method there when it was first converted to a carp fishery essentially when the fish were only a few pounds,poor fish Have been battered ever since

Fish Drayton allot myself. Can haul over 40 fish in a day session with one rod. But that is surface fishing in the warmer months.

Same at claterscote res great venue and quality fishing but the mouths are a mess, puts you off going.

Nice Match guys, but one thing i have to mention: how destroyed are the mouths of those poor fish?!? Please give those carp a break.

@@krycek1976 yea been smashed sadly , I was there during the stocking when they were a few pounds as lived there and literally every peg is pretty much full all year round and the fish get zero rest bite sadly .... It's just a money maker thats all ..

As a pleasure angler, not a Carp angler as in I don't have all the gear I'm intrigued by what causes the horrible mouth damage on some Carp you see being caught. I've caught match size Carp myself with mouth damage.. Looking around Internet some blame strong elastics on pole, others say its barbless hooks, others say its braid.. I'm going to stick up for Carp anglers because you don't see damage on Carp of 20lb upwards which makes you think its not their tackle causing it.. My own theory is over gunned elastics and barbless hooks, That's just my opinion folks but of course I could be wrong.

My understanding and sense of logic believes it to be fine lines and hook. Match fishing was stopped at Drayton because of the mouth damage it was causing. Barbless hooks cause less damage. If you’ve ever put a barbed hook through your thumb (as I have 🤦‍♂️) you’ll understand just how much more damage is caused by the barb than the rest of the hook. People that think barbed hooks don’t twist in a carps mouth need to understand that the mouth is not made out of steel. All hooks will twist under lateral pressure in any form of living flesh. 👍

You made one big mistake. Tying pva bags directly over the boards means ratty party time. If you can very carefully tie them in a bucket without spilling a single grain of anything at all, you’ll only get half a dozen trying to share your brolly.
