Curly Maple Picture Frame // With Crossed Walnut Inlay

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I make a picture frame from curly maple, using a variety of woodworking techniques. This frame was build specifically for a panoramic photo of our family cottage, I captured with my drone last summer. The frame features a criss-crossed walnut inlay that gives the mitered joints added support as well as a beautiful look.

I found it easier and less fussy to cut and glue two long side inlays, then run your frame through the saw again on the short sides. this cuts through the long inlay, allows you to place the short side inlays in one piece, rather than having to cut and fuss with the little bits on the edges. less cuts, less room for error. just a thought. beautiful frame.

Agree. That made me so uncomfortable. No frame is worth losing a finger for

@ 1:09 please watch your fingers always use a push stick or other tool. Stay safe and keep all of your fingers 🙏❤.

Beautiful piece, man. It’s terrifying to watch you use a table saw, you cut it very close to the fingers, maybe it was just the camera angle when cutting the rabbets, idk.

Nice build of the picture frame! what type of table saw do you have or is it actually called a table saw? Also your cottage looks like its a blast to hang out on the water during the summer!

Revived Builds thank you! Yeah my table saw is a Jet Super Saw. It looks funny because it has the sliding top attachment connected. And as for the cottage, it’s located on Peaks Island, where my parents grew up.

@@jharmondesign All the ones where your fingers and hands were passing directly over and within an inch or two of the blade on the side. The work is beautiful, but the work process needs more safe saw procedures.
