Loved this! Thanks guys. For the savoury school dinners I remember watery mash scooped out with an ice cream scoop, burgers like hockey pucks and overcooked yellow peas! Mum switched me to packed lunches.... Corned beef and brown sauce sandwiches, mini pork pie and a penguin biscuit. I am now a vegetarian!😂xx

The gypsy tart or if it’s my favourite butterscotch tart. I need my daughter to cook this!

Brilliant and hilarious curly cooks as always 😂💞 school dinners were horrendous our headmistress at primary school was wicked she used to walk around with a cane and stand over you shouting to eat up and her words were "Woe betide you if you don't" 😗 she often used that cane on the kids.. this was mid to late seventies .. the lumpy custard with skin 🤢 think I got a slap of the cane more than once 😧 well done Nadia, Dina and Mark lovely show 💞💚💚

Used get carmel tart at primary school stew and mash and chicken supreme also got semolina and Jam also got lentil soup

I loved school salad cream they put carnation milkin the salad cream. I liked most school dinners except liver and stew. It was real food in the 60s/70s. I actually like really thick custard also really thick semolina.

Bloody hell. I’m now yearning for the Sausage Rolls & Apple pies from my school canteen. Bloody good they were. Aussie Bob 😋😋😋😋😋

Old school dinner roast dinners always with roast beef which tasted like rubber or some form of chicken/turkey roll… my all time favourite school dinner pudding was school cake or bread and butter pudding. I remember having Apple crumble with custard (which was always lumpy and cold yuck 🤮)

I used to love what i think was soya mince pie we used to have back in the 60's. Whatever it was it wasn't meat. Only thing that you could guarantee didn't have gristle in!! But was tasty. I used to be monitor at lunch times. We used to get sixpence a week!!
