Wow to see this live is pretty cool. The group top the charts at #15 with this song in 1984. Considered a One Hit Wonder because they have not produced another single to hit the Top 40 Chart. They did this with the Charlie Daniels band. Now thats awsome.
I remember this song, from late 1983, on the Q ZOO in the morning. Tim Twining turned me on to it. GREAT!!!!!!!
Genius idea for a song! Bought the record, back in the day, but lost it in a move. Big rush hearing it again, and live to boot! N'Yuk, N'Yuk, N'Yuk!
Recorded live at Volunteer Jam X in Nashville. February 4, 1984. I was there.
All it's missing is the original Drummer and co writer Bob aka Billy Bob Lindsley who helped get the off the ground. RIP old friend.
Wow, they even go, "Hello, Hello, Hello..." and the lead singer says, "Hello!" in his Curly voice!
This is the best version I have found yet!! You guys are the best of the best for this song!! You even get Dick Clarkto introdce you! WOW!!! RIP CURLY
As an afternoon radio host at a small FM station in Iowa it was the highlight of my day to play this record,
This song has curly heart and his personality. Way to go to incorporate that art and fling it in a musical direction.
Peter, the lead singer, closest thing I had to a father. love you man if you're looking at the comments.

This is so cool that the guy who sang the iconic Curley Shuffle was a father figure to you AND that you found his video here (all these years later) and that I get to read your comment. Life is very cool.
My science teacher from Illinois claimed to know these guys personally.
I love these guys!
THIS GREAT WONDERFUL!!!!!!

They are now called Skip Town & the Greyhounds ( www.skiptowne.com) still playing Chicago north suburbs. I'm friends with one of the band members through our sons. Great band still.

@@dariowiter3078 This house has sure gone crazy!
I notice that "JUMP N THE SADDLE" has a lot of friends and relatives making comments, so I make a proposal: my songwriting partner and I have an original novelty Christmas song called ROCKIN' REINDEER (not to be confused with a similar title from 20 years ago). ROCKIN' REINDEER would sound GREAT performed in the style of THE CURLY SHUFFLE. If the band is interested, contact us and we'll send a demo. If the song is recorded/released, the royalties normally given to just the songwriters will be split EQUALLY between ALL band members and we two songwriters. Plus...we'll give you 10% of OUR share of the royalties for hooking us up. Unlike pop songs, Christmas songs make royalties EVERY year for the life of the copyright, so it's worth a shot!
Oh Wise Guys Huh?
Jon Wallach's favorite band
Dick Clark host of American Bandstan & own production R I P
I thought this band had more songs --- from the late 70's ??? only 1 posted seems to be 'curley shuffle'
Curly gives me a chubby
Show me a man who doesn't like the 3 stooges, and I'll show you a QUEER!
What's the deal with the fake "cheering" throughout this thing? One hit and it wasn't even THAT big of a hit! TV people are just plain dumb (and Dick Clark was such a phoney baloney)....
