@@MikeTheScavenger That's a beautiful box!! It looks it might be mother of pearl inlay and by the color of the wood, probably rosewood. Expensive little chopsticks and an expensive little box to boot! I can't believe that someone tossed that out! Wowzer!
Scrapping is the most truthful and honest job on this planet.
Shocks me how some YT channels have a million subs , when Mike should have 2-3 million easy ... Share the SCAVENGER with everyone .
It’s February 2022 and there is a huge shortage of metal on the market. Thank goodness for peeps like Mike who keep this metal in our economy. Watch yo head!
Former part time scrapper here, you have the best scavenger videos out there in my opinion. I tried to watch a few others but it was like all they were after was the high dollar stuff, cutting cables and such but I like that you go for it all. Keep doing what you do and I'll keep watching
22:58.... It's a GLASS MAGAZINE RACK Mike... I've never seen one before either
Little bit of PT in the morning takes you back to formation. Haha! TEN HUT SON! 😀
Mother-of-pearl is what you were trying to remember, as for what that inlay is on the chopstick box. Basically it's interior of sea shells.
19:11 If you smash these fluorescent tubes like this it will be mercury vapors coming out for 15 minutes there to breathe in, not good, try avoiding this. 19:56 Yellow 6x9" speakers, might be polypropylene, but mightbe real kevlar too, kevlar is good for sound quality, light weight makes a precise sound. Have them in your truck if they still makes sound that is..? May have been played too loud or for too long. Test with a 1.5 volt battery, it you see movements and hear a click then they're good to go. Often the tweeters die if played too loud. But you can still use the yellow bass speakers on them taking away the tweeter rack and maybe put some other tweeters there as replacements in the coaxial stock setup. Or even add some tweeters on the dashboard ofthe car as a addition by itself. There is capacitors and possibly inductor coils used as a crossover, use them parts for the new tweeter setup to get a ok'ish working crossover. 20:22 Yeah, there you go, you got some replacement tweeters impressingly fast here, faster than that it cant be done :) JBL is a good brand name, they could possibly be titanium horn tweeters. Test them with a 1.5 volt battery the same way, if a click sound then they're likely good. The suspension in speakers may still be damaged or the voice coil glue inside them may have looesened. But you can hear if they are playing good or not by testing them further with a wire from a portable radio or something that makes sound for speakers. 22:55 This may be a magazine or newspaper rack perhaps? 23:16 Saw some wood and mix the sawdust with some wood glue and use it as a filler with your fingers and smoothen it out and voila the wood box will be fine again ready to use :) 24:15 Thank you for reminding me to put a new toothbrush on my shopping list, i use the soft one too :)

It always amazes me just how much stuff gets thrown away. We live in such a wasteful society these days.

How can anyone dislike Mike's videos this guy is funny as hell.
I never knew I liked scrapping until Mike came across my screen . It’s like this most of the videos I watch . The one thing people lack in a lot of channels is personality and you my friend have it in spades makes the videos much more enjoyable.

Dear Mike , you really was raised to be a wonderful ,funny ,hard working man ........your family really contributed to your non stop determination to succeed in everything that you venture to tackle. You give us so much fun and laughter watching your scavenging in the urban jungle and listening to your hilarious antics with Dotty .. I wonder if you should wear some important face protection while in the dumpsters ....... that might guard your important eyes and breathing from all the stench of the juicy ,wet dumpsters.

I hope Mike never becomes a hoarder because he can stack a shit ton of stuff in a small space. I'm always thinking the video must be about over because Dottie is definitely stuffed, Mike grabs two more refrigerators a dishwasher and an oven! 🤣
That mental frame is a rack that hangs down from rafters in garage for storage. Totes fit in them perfectly.

I use to scrap before I got disabled. I sometimes pick stuff up in my handicap van with my dad. I brought home some bed frames an drilled the rivets out to have something to do. An now I piled up the angle iron an waiting to use the for projects later. We also picked up a trampoline an a few lawnmowers an some other metal.
Awesome haul making that money money money

The glass thing on a stand is a Magazine Rack which would sit beside the lounge suite for Mums magazines. Popular in the 60s and 70s.
Scraptastic Day!

Love it when a dumpster keeps on giving.
Great haul! It’s mother of pearl 🌸

Hey Young Mike that is abalone shell or mother of pearl, mini Asian cultures use that along with Jade in furniture and a host of things. Yes that’s abalone shell and then polished off sometimes set in lacquer…

:Monitoring your arm...." 🤣
Good job.
Love curbside runs.
Thanks for taking us along on your urban quest. Have you considered contacting a sociologist at you local college? As a student (decades ago) our urban studies professor had us survey trash in various neighborhoods and report our findings. There must be some correlation between ceiling fans and window screens while all the fluorescent and halogen lighting fixtures are probably being upgraded to LEDs to save power. Stay safe out there. Peace brother
Woo hoo .. Love your videos Mike !
Good job once again!
Solid day - that glass thingy is very cool. Love me some aluminum screens and such. Happy Hunting!
Great video. Thank you forthe work you do.
Great job Mike beat the cord cutter shout out from the Bahamas

you could sure make a NICE screen house with all those screens
that box is awsome
I love a Swingline stapler!!
Hes so strong like always in hurry 🤣👏🏻😊
Those florescent fixtures in the last bin look almost old enough that the ballasts might have PCBs in them. Ballasts made after PCBs were banned all are labeled PCB free. If they don't say then they contain PCB and should be taken to the hazardous waste drop off. Keep them out of the shread pile.
another good run nice load
Thanx Mike
Hey Mikey be careful shattering tube lights the glass is really thin Wear clear goggles getting them out of light fixtures don’t get any In your eyes. That’s a warning to all divers.

WOW. How did you ever teach Dottie to straighten and stack all the scrap when you throw it in. Lol. You always seem to fill the truck all the way when you curb scrap but seem to make more money with the dumpsters. Although the little boxes had some neat things in them.
