They definitely captured many essence of the video game. The frantic balance of defence and attack, the stress of the HP and the importance of parry, the fast pace game so that even if you lose you don’t feel you spent a lot of time only to lose. What a great transfer from a video game!

Looking at Nicki's reactions in the last rounds, seems like they really managed to make the boardgame just as stressful as the video game. It looks great

Completely didn't notice on first runthrough, but it looks like each boss shows the number of cards behind it in the lower right corner.

It looks like you guys misread the rules for Boss 2 box? It says “In aerial battles only, Aeroplane Weapons and Super Arts may be used”. It doesn’t say ONLY Aeroplane Weapons and Super Arts can be used. So it seems like you totally could have used everything you bought from Box 1.

@@BadMonday I believe it's saying the restrictions are: You can ONLY use the aeroplane weapon, any super arts may be used if unlocked, & any charms bought may be used. It's not saying you can't use super arts in other boss battles, if you've unlocked them you can use them for aeroplane & regular battles. (As far as I can tell from this video, I don't know what the other bosses' restrictions are in later battles)

Yeah, it says, "In aerial battles only, Aeroplane weapons and Super Arts may be used." Looks like Dave moved the comma. The way he thinks it is would be, "In aerial battles, only Aeroplane weapons and Super Arts may be used."

Has anyone confirmed either way which this is? I would think it made more sense if you were using aeroplane weapons only in an aeroplane..? Everywhere I've looked seem to be split 50/50 on how it should be read.

Game looks fantastic. Surely with the aeroplane card, you have to defend the attack before the bonus would count. Lincoln thought this and I agree. Awesome play through though guys. Also, where are the dice trays from? You guys are great!

No. You are evaluating each boss card one at a time, so whatever happens down the road is later. Plus, on the Aeroplane Peashooter card, it call the Ex die a Chomper Missile.

If you read the instructions it doe’s specifically say that the spaces on your player board to not correspond with the boss cards. For EX. If your boss attacks with 2 attacks and you successfully dodge it you are allowed to assign a shoot dice after your 2 dodge dice

Under “3. Roll and Assign Dice: Attacking the Boss”, it specifically states that you cannot attack the boss on an attack card where you need to dodge two attacks due to there not being room to assign an extra die. Gamenight! had it correct.

This game is too stressful for me. I was having a panic attack just watching you all play. Any game with a timer freaks me out.

In aero battles, you should ALL try and get a shot on the lowest possible hit place since they all carry forward if you can't parry. And you missed one of Nikki's getting an extra hit on the 2nd round. And Dave, I heard the rule as your shot gets +1 for additional empty spaces, so if the FIRST shot is your black for 2, you can get 3 more for FIVE total, and thus could do 15 on a turn if all three players got good first shots. (Going back to look at the card, it's not clear if even the black die gets only 1 hit--they could have made that clear by showing both icons or mentioning the black is not special here. Because then actually, it might mean the black shot does NOT carry forward since it's not mentioned on the card? Ugh...lol)

genre-ology wise is this the same as Dodo? prly the only other game that has dice rolling at given time, resources for a ramp before the egg rolls onto it:D (is 2 the limit to justify a new genre?:))

I think this is very close to the video game

I do believe that unless you're adding a finger gun, dice must be placed according to the attack. So if it was Parry/Parry/Dash Parry, you'd put one Parry in one spot (and a pew pew if you have it in the empty spot, etc... But otherwise, a pretty epic playthrough. from what I've seen.

Just like the video game, you will die often...like, a lot...a board game that has "grinding" built in, nice, hehe.

Not a game that plays well to players being above/below the cards. I think that is why Lincoln messed up. Playing left to right for him is backwards.

I agree, they should find a more creative way to showcase that sponsorship in the video and not be that invasive, I pay KZread Premium because I hate ads and it’s annoying having to watch 3 full ads.

Benjamin, this response is one I made to another similar comment. "We have never had any sponsorships on our show and resisted them for a long time. But this partnership is the best possible situation for us. They do not expect us to feature any specific games and want us to continue what we are doing. The only thing they want from us is to is to show how many sleeves are needed for the game, feature their products and show some ads. Our show has never made any profit other than the extremely small amount of money KZread provides us from their random ads, that are infinitely more profitable for KZread. We also are not monetizing GameNight videos so there should no longer be the random breaks KZread inserts. Plus Gamegenic makes some amazing products. I hope you understand our situation." Unfortunately this is true for KZread Premium but as a small consolation you can still skip the 30 seconds. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
