London is one of the most surveilled cities in the world, the police could easily arrest / disrupt there activities. What I find amazing is this kind of scam has been going on for Hundreds of years. First time I witnessed it was in the early 1980s in Park lane London right in front of the Hilton hotel basically they were there every day, police didn’t do anything then either. The people then were Londoners doing it but I seen the same scam all over the world.

Why didn’t you show him what you had just recorded when he asked you for a description? Well here’s an idea, arrest the lookouts too as they are part of it. They have stopped me a few times for just walking down the pavement, even cycling with lights on and hi-viz at night they stopped me on account of they hadn’t seen me in the area before. Seems like there are some special people in Lunnun.

Nearly as illegal as the Arab doctor I encountered two years ago whilst bedridden in a ward of Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, following a car accident. A doctor who, even whilst working on the ward with his patients was taking incessant mobile telephone calls to make arrangements for the immigration advice business he was running as a side-line. He was unaware that I spoke and understood Arabic. The hospital authorities (PALS) couldn't have cared less. I have no words capable of describing the moral degeneration of our nation.

ANother true story - a relative's Uncle is a Senior Consultant at the NHS in Wales. He told us 3-4 years ago that a Doctor Colleague of his - an overseas appointment from Ghana - was caught stealing equipment and having it sent back to Ghana. He was given a VERBAL Warning and allowed to carry on. I guess the Trust concerned figured it was better to have a crooked Doctor than an empty chair.

This has little to do with Khan and has been going on since Johnson was Mayor of London and these scammers have been doing this for the past decade under a Tory government and several Tory Home Secretaries, whose remit is law enforcement in England and Wales, matters of national security and issues concerning immigration. How about half a dozen decent folk standing at both ends of the bridge on both pavements holding placards on poles, the Estate Agent types, saying 'Con artists at work, all pavement tricks are scams, pickpockets among them, Do Not fund them!' Have some more of the same boards being mobile, and walked up and down the bridge, in plain sight of, and past the scammers. With determined scammers that repeat offend, just follow them with a pirates skull and crossbones banner, telling people that they are crooks the moment they begin their con. There must be a load of ways to completely mess up their playing field! Thank you.

If people haven’t worked that out by now, no amount of warnings is going to help them. You can’t stop stupidity. I have no hard feeling toward the “scammers” but I do shake my head at those foolish, gullible people who only have money left half way across Westminster bridge because they couldn’t find anyone to sell them the bridge beforehand.

Strange how police can go in plain clothed undercover when they need to.

It has, but some people still do not know how the scam works and think that by using their eyes that they can follow the cup that originally had the ball underneath it. Originally being the key word there. And they are often correct too, they can follow the 'correct' cup but it will still not have the ball under it once they make their bet and choice, because the ball is picked up by the last two fingers of the hand when the cups are moved around with a rim edge slightly titled and raised off the surface during the first few movements and then slipped under one of the other two cups during the moving of all three cups. That is why the ball is often made of sponge because it is easy to grab and squash in the fingers and hand when scooping it up once tilting the cups when mixing and moving them, and then replacing it under a different titled cup but mixing and moving them flush to the surface once the ball has switched cups. You would be better off following the original cup with your eyes and once all three have come to a rest, guess one of the other two because at least you have a 50% chance of winning compared to 0% due to the scam of the switching of the ball under another cup via sleight of hand.

Far easier. Go to Hendon. Get new recruits for a two day course on undercover policing. Dress them in pink. One carries a pink umbrella. They walk up to the game, become interested. Get out a wallet perhaps. Then you have the undivided attention. Then you nick them all. The new recruits get guaranteed arrests and court time etc. CPS is ready. CPS needs to up the game to conspiracy. Ideal for a new lawyer. Then next, use green instead of pink. Eventually they will work out that any group with an umbrella is the police. You get tourists doing the work for you. But it involves police getting up off their arses. That's the core problem.

It’s not illegal to stand on a bridge and look both ways. Police are damned if they do and don’t. Arrest someone for what? Jiggling cups around and giving their sister, brother or friend 50 pounds? They are never in a million years going to hand over winnings to a stranger. The only way to stop this is grow some brains and walk past them. If it was illegal, the victims are just as much at fault as the “scammers”, they’re committing a crime by participating.
