The problem with spending a lot of time in a restaurant is that you are holding up a table that the restaurant needs to make money with. There's a formula that restaurants and bars/pubs use to calculate how much money they can make off of each chair and table for a specific amount of time. In America, it's all about the money. Time is money. Fast Food is popular because it's fast. When you're on lunch break from work, we don't have hours to waste to sit down and casually eat our meals. Most lunch breaks are 30 mins to an hour. That's it. Because there's shit to do, and very little time to do it.
My mama always baked my birthday cakes. They were so amazing
*Manon, I have a video request!* Could you make a video showing us how the French grocery shop? Knowing how different French food culture is to American, I would love to see what type of store/market a Frenchmen would go to. Specifically, I would love to see the produce. I come from a farm in Ohio (neighboring PA) but currently live in Dallas, Texas. My cousin is a chef from New Zealand, and he has told me how bad American produce is compared to Europe and abroad. If you can, I would really appreciate that video!

Thanks for your comment and idea ! :) Yes I will probably do one sometimes I just need to figure out how to do it because I'm kinda scared to bring my camera at the grocery store and film haha But yes products are pretty different and we do have healthier options that in the US, we have more controls on food products I think and also a lot less choise especially for fast, easy foods, like cakes, candies or even microwable meals

Manon, you grabbed my attention right away with what you said about church. My girlfriend and her parents attend a unique kind of church. One where they hand out food and coffee prior to the services that they provide. There’s socializing both before and after as well. The service itself has a pastor and musical group playing songs and it’s really unique and lively. I personally prefer standard mass though with a priest, homily, Eucharist and so on and so forth cause that’s what I grew up with. And with standard mass here in the U.S., you usually just got to church and then go home and relax for the day. So there are some similarities between the two but like you said, there are also different generations attending in both countries. You’re very smart and a natural on the camera. Keep up the awesome work as always.

Yeah that's pretty similar then ! Sociolizing is so important in that type of church ! The songs were awesome I loved them, there was a great ambiance. Haha thank you so much ! I don't feel that natural (have a hard time speaking enlighs) but I appreciate your comment !!

Regarding baking cakes, it depends on where you live and whether someone wants to bake a cake or not. Some people simply love to bake cakes, but this is exceptional.
French people: PDA and kissing on the cheek in greeting is not uncommon and generally accepted Also French people, being called "sweetie" by Americans: 👁️ 👄 👁️
My mom always baked me a cake and makes me hungarian goulash for my birthday. Also I love picking out cards for people, I always get the craziest ones I can find.

I will be in France for the first time next month. Im ready for some culture shock.
Honestly I even feel like random small talk is weird. If I'm standing in line or whatever and some random person starts talking to me for no reason I'm always like "why is this person talking to me". But I guess I am 10% french so maybe that's why I feel this way lol.

Well it's always a bit weird but if the person is really nice and not pushy then it can turn out to be quite fun ! Hahaha that might do it !! On est français ou on ne l'est pas
I think many Protestant American churches are much more informal than Catholic ones which are predominant in France. I'm Catholic and sometimes we have parish socials or picnics once a month but always after church and outside but nothing too crazy. Anyway I will always welcome an excuse to eat donuts. 🍩
