Watang, your questions are more theoretical than practical. Both counterculture and assimilation can be conflict makers. Countercultures are (by definition) designed to disrupt and cause conflict while assimilation may not necessarily have a primary purpose to cause disruption or change (but does cause change nonetheless). I hope this gives you a starting point.
