Great podcast again. The one thing that would make me stop watching wrestling would be if in a few years wwe make the women’s division revert to what it was in early 2000s. It’s why I started watching tna because they had women wrestling as appose to the 5 minute lingerie matches at wrestlemania for the women’s title. Just going back to that era would put me off wrestling all together

if deuce and domino don’t return at the greatest royal rumble i will stop watching wrestling for a year

Caleb Robinson I just Googled 'Hoss wrestling'. Glad you enjoy it but I can't stand it. Not because it's slow, boring and usually talentless but because the match time itself is opportunuty lost for more talented, athletic and entertaining wrestlers. I suppose we all have our guilty pleasures. I love comedy wrestling like Florida Bros or even Santino Marella

With the global localisation thing, I think it will work if they aren’t branded nxt, so for example in the uk everyone knows ICW works with wwe, but because it’s still branded icw and doesn’t have wwe logos everywhere it still feels like it’s own thing. So for example in my home there is MCW (Melbourne City Wrestling) so if it was associated but still labeled as MCW it feels like a home promotion not an American company coming in. This way people still have a connection to the promotion due to country/nationality pride. But WWE, has that global control they wish for.

Mine was a combo of super cena and just getting older and people saying wrestling was "gay", i got back in because i watched a couple of playthroughs of wwe 2k15 and also hearing about the bullet club, I do find it interesting that more people are coming back but because of the indies, i did have a little spell in 2011 because of the summer of punk but once i realize cena was the top guy and not punk i backed out, now i will admit though cena is great, it's just his booking, ask me in 2012 about cena and i would've said he's OP but now I'm a big fan

2002 was the best time to watch SmackDown

What would make me stop watching wrestling? If WWE (and WWE owned ones like NXT or puppets propped up like Evolve) were the only wrestling promotion . If WWE is the only option then I opt out-which I did for a number of years after WCW and ECW went under until I discovered VHS tapes of ROH which re-lit my love for the fake but awesome sport.

I am a couple months late, but what made me stop watching wrestling personally was the Streak ending at WM 30. Don't get me wrong I understand that Lesnar needed it in order to generate enough momentum to become the big monster heel he is now, but I always felt like he was the wrong person to get that momentum. First off, Lesnar would have never needed to gain said momentum if they didn't have him lose 2 matches back to back when he came back in 2012. Secondly, between the mythical Cena heel turn or propelling a young talent (Imagine if Bray Wyatt had broken it at WM 31) there were a lot of other and arguably better ways to end The Streak. It sadly also doesn't help that Taker's unfortunate concussion early on meant that the match was a bit lackluster. Outside of watching Smackdown Live in person in 2015 just so I could see The Undertaker's entrance as a member of the crowd, I didn't actually get back into wrestling until 2018 with WM 34.

Do you guys say "heed" ironically, like Gateshead football club, or is it a legit thing. Up the Bromley!!!

honestly the Brock Lesnar as Champion stuff has brought me really close to stopping watching wwe, I want to stop watching but I guess you could say I am addicted. I see Lesnar being champion as the worst decision in wrestling. for multiple reason that I don't feel like going through for the millionth time it is just a poor choice. I have also never liked the whole monster heel thing, I just don't find unstoppable monsters fun to watch. Strowman is really the first one that I like.

Triple H's plan for "Global Localization" sounds like a Bond villain's lame excuse for world domination. Literally the only thing that would change from the status quo is that WWE would own 'everything' - everything being a limited term since indy promotions would spring up regardless of which formerly-indy ones sell out to the Man. I think taking lit less literally, Trips wants to change from a television focus to a subscription-based streaming focus - and not just WWE products but 'all' of the promotions. Hence why they give less than two fucks about tv ratings.
