CULLERCOATS | Walking Tour of Cullercoats Bay near Newcastle, North East England | 4K Walk around Cullercoats Bay near Tynemouth and Whitley Bay

We were in the North East of England recently and thought we'd stop off in the beautiful Cullercoats Bay for a good look around and to explore the beach and seafront including the caves that are carved into the cliffs by the sea!
Cullercoats is situated in North Tyneside in the North East of England and right between Whitley Bay and Tynemouth.
Cullercoats Bay is a semi circular bay with soft sandy beach and with six caves. In the bay you can have surfing or paddleboat lessons, and there is a small cafe, a lifeboat station and even the Dove Marine Laboratory near the harbour.
We start this walking tour at Cullercoats Arch which is an arched rock formed by sea water wearing away the cliffs.
From there we head down the steps and onto the beach before going into Cullercoats Caves for a nosey around those too.
As we walk around the beach and the bay we come to the harbour area with the Cullercoats Lifeboat Station and The Dove Marine Laboratory that looks over the beach and out to sea
We then climb up the steps up to Victoria Crescent and come to a row of shops and cafes including Beaches and Cream, See You There, Bill's Fish Bar and Salthouse before we arrive at Cullercoats Crescent Club and Institute.
We end this walking tour at the Cullercoats fisherman's lookout clock tower and community centre before looking down the cliff and over the beach and out to see above Cullercoats Harbour.
For music fans, Andy Taylor of Duran Duran fame is from Cullercoats!

Such evocative memories of my childhood; exploring those caves, searching the rock-pools, hearing the maroons firing to gather the lifeboatmen for rescue at sea. Love your channel. Keep walking!

@@GimbalWalkTV no it is Cullercoats Bay, Brown's Bay is between Cullercoats and Whitley Bay which is a gravel beach and lots of rocks, smaller than Cullercoats.

The trouble with suggesting places, is that we don't know which part of the country you are heading to next . . . But perhaps Seaham might be good (North East) I especially want to see "Tommy" (a statue on the beach - real name "11.01") I did do a search to see if you had done it but did not find it. I you say you are goibg to be, for example Western Scotland, viewers could suggest some interesting places ... just an idea. Keep em coming 👍🤩

That's fine - I always just head for the sunshine really so I eventually get round to all suggested places - keep the ideas coming!
