I use a French press, stainless steel, with graduations marked into the press itself, this is what works for me. Time setting 4 for .75 liters. 6 for 1.0 L. 8 for 1.25 L. 10 for 1.5 liters of water. The only problems I've had is when the discharge chute gets clogged up and beans are not being grounded but time keeps running. Have to clear chute with a screwdriver at that point.

Oh I have that same problem from time to time. I actually just clean mine with water in the sink. Just take it apart and run water through the grinder.

I had that exact grinder and once it finally quit on me I switched to buying ground coffee, or buying beans at Starbucks and having them grind the bag for me. Once my coffee maker crapped out, I switched over to K Cups specifically out of convenience. Now my biggest worry is having to fill the water reservoir every couple days. I wish you would do a follow up video that discusses how coarse to grind beans for different purposes. I used to just leave mine in the middle on medium for drip coffee. I've only considered going back to grinding my own beans in order to make my own k cups that would be stronger than normal.

Always try to grind fresh yourself at home. If you can grind your beans to brew not to store. I have a Philips Super Automatic coffee maker that grinds the beans fresh before each cup so I get a supre fresh tasting cup 💯👍😁

Hi, I am started seeing the limitation of my Cuisinart DB-8 grinder. Here is what I did :- 1. Grinder is set at the finest level. 2. Coffee powder 18 grams, dual basket. I am using Breville Bambino Plus. 3. I don't have a distributor, will try to get one soon. Results:- 1. 65ml or 2.2 oz of extracted coffee. Compare to the recommended standard, the right amount of espresso should be 36ml. 2. Total brewed time is 24 seconds starting from the button is pressed and stopped at 24 seconds. Unfortunately I can't make it finer due to the grinder limitation. I am thinking to increase the dose from 18 to 19g, what is your thought on this? Is there any other means to overcoming my limitation?

Yes it sounds like you need a grinder for Espresso shots only. The DB-8 is best for making a wide variety of grinds but not really the best at one specific grind only. I'd recommend you looking at this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B00OXGXW8O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fab_1-IAFbZYEYQW7 It's expensive but will be exactly what you need 👍🙂

  • @AtHomewithLucas

Yes I open the lid over the sink so it will just spill there. You can also just set the grind time to less so it won't fill the cup to the max. Also you will get used to opening the lid 👍😁

When I turn mine on I can smell the beans burning almost immediately because it grinds at such a high speed and it definitely affects the flavor of the coffee. I've taken the hopper off after grinding and the burr is so hot it burnt my finger.

Also remember everything Walmart sells is cheaper because it's not thr same products sold everywhere else. It's actually made out of lesser quality materials. Hence why more Walmart products break quicker. I'd recommend buying from Amazon if you can...definitely keep me updated on your next grinder 💯😁👍

But it's not very accurate. I usually grind only 6 tablespoons at a time, and I set it to 12 cups because it needs the extra time to catch the few beans that do not get initially ground, and even then there may be one left.
