dude, this level of insight on gyms and coaching is soo damn nice to hear. as a coach, it is nice to hear fighters appreciate certain styles of coaching and notice it. i think thats important for fighters to hear. cub should really harp this out there harder because this stuff is important. ive had this happen to me when i was in high school training. i was getting ready for my first amateur fight and sparred with someone getting ready for a pro fight and nobody stopped us from going hard. he kicked my leg soo hard while i was going for a body kick of my own, it really twisted my motion as i got kicked that hard on my lone leg. maybe a freak accident but when i replanted i felt a pop and was in soo much pain. i tore my acl. that derailed soo much for me at the time. now i coach and train smart with a lot of athletes and to hear cub talk about this just reassures my stance on it.

I had on a KillerCub shirt and KillerCub hat and out of nowhere Cub Swanson came up to me in my row and said what’s up and we took a picture together and talked about his next fight coming up. Such a crazy experience and humble interaction with Cub. I’ll always hold onto that memory. Favorite fighter of all time.

Cub just proved why TJ is such a believer in coach Cal, it's all about doping and taking EPO. It had nothing to do with being anemic, it was that TJ needed to be able to keep up. He has zero quit and will not accept failure. Cub may not have been that champion caliber fighter, but he has definitely had a successful career in the UFC. My past post about him not being a top ranked fighter is not an accurate description of this man. To be in the UFC period means u are already one of the best in the world. Cub is a humble man and a martial artist which makes him a great ambassador for the sport. God bless him and his family 🙏🏻

Power comes from the ground, the legs and the hip. Punching with the whole body not just the arms like a lot of people do. My teacher is 155-160 pounds, about 63 years old. He hits like a ton of bricks. No one hits harder than him consistently. Other guys 200+ pounds might get similar power (from our style) But the way sensei does it with every single technique: jab, straight punch, hook, uppercut, sweep, front kick, etc.. It's all about technique is the moral of the story.

I always thought he made a mistake when he dismissed Conor after Conor called him out. May have been a game changer however Cub is still a legend....beautiful destruction!
