How to Ruin the entire American Series in just one race... Well what would you know, NM has paywalled yet another major event series in one of the slimiest ways possible. As most of you already know, the R8 Speed trap on Race 79 in FEWL is essentially paywalled behind a few layers of greed. To highlight just how slimy this is I’m going to go through a few different scenarios and how you are essentially paying for each and every one of them. SCENARIO ONE: “FTP Furai” Congrats! You won (maybe not) the Furai. Now, you’re down a significant amount of ASC with only a shimmer of hope you’ll be able to even buy the R8 with earned credits by the end of the main run of the event. Of course, not owning the cars means you’re losing out on free crates each day, and if you miss it by more than 3 days, you’ll miss loyalty altogether and have to buy crates to get a stage 6. Want to hit loyalty? You’ll have to buy ASC to get the car in time, but you’ll probably have to buy even more ASC to get the available Stage 6 in the event hub (Unless you want to buy even more crates.) Wait until rerun? You’re in the exact same situation, minus buying ASC for the car to start with. Either way, you’re paying to win the Senna GTR. SCENARIO TWO: Senna Addict (me) You skipped the Furai to save for the Senna (or just didn’t want the Furai) because you anticipated NM being greedy. Not this greedy, though. Buying the R8 and even the stage 6 is no issue, but you’ll STILL have to pay for crates should your loyalty not reward Body or NOS. Collecting every free crate and not waiting for the rerun (because you’d still have to pay for crates) will cost you 4 paid crates ($16 USD) to hit loyalty twice. Hold off on buying the event hub stage 6 part? That’s $28 USD more of crates to hit loyalty again. Even then, you’re paying for the Senna GTR. You’ll also at risk to not have enough credits for upcoming events and are out of the finale unless SOTW reruns a third time. Conclusion: NM is screwing you. Don’t win every event and drain every resource you have to win the Indycar. Prioritize only the events that you REALLY want to win and don’t worry about the series as a whole... unless you want to sell a kidney. The American Series is now paywalled and if you’re F2P, NM doesn’t care about you anymore. They gave you the Furai, and that’s all they’ll do. Keep in mind a similar issue is likely for upcoming events as well.
