Usually it's avoided to prevent possible brain herniation, but therapeutic CSF drainage needed in cases of Hydrocephalus,Benign ICP,Meningitis cases..

In subtentorial icsol with high csf pressure,lumber puncture raises chance of herniation.on the other hand, specially in idiopathic intracranial hypertension, LP has therapeutic role.

When you are using the transducer, how will you zero it ? What should be the position of the transducer ?

Thanks...in this case the transducer is zeroed at the level of insertion site

Thanks..we are using CVP measurement scale, no need to flush the scale till 0 ...as the same CSF sent to lab. for examination...need to calculate -4 as 0 and proceed.

That’s not a CVP manometer. It’s a CSF manometer. It’s measuring cerebral spinal fluid pressure. CVP is pressure within the circulatory system, mainly venous pressure.

What is the correction to be made for CVP manometer to get appropriate CSF opening pressure sir. Here with CVP manometer the pressure is 30 and where as with digital measurement it is 22Which is reliable sir

extreme headache. but as long as you get heartache medicine given to you and you try your best not to move for 3 days you wont feel much.
