What's good former CS2 from the Port Royal, shout out to the CS's 2018-2022, I couldn't agree more with yah. It can be fun but it also can be a pain in the ass.

We do we just work longer hours than most rates. Not including engineering of course.

What about the new directive that on-watch CSs have to stay on board the ship at night in port? I'm hearing it's being implemented to give the duty section sufficient personnel to handle in-port fires and other emergency situations.

Just only heard people talk about it. Nothing has been put into place that I know of.

Are you working 5 & 2 at sea? We only worked 5 & 2 in port and on shore duty. Often in a foreign port, we'd either work day on, day off or 2 on, 2 off.

Only in Port we work 5 and 2.

@@arteagaa95 Then there was day on, stay on! During the fall of Vietnam, we were working 12 hours a day feeding refuges and the crew at NAS Cubi Pt., P.I. We'd work 1 & 1 or 2 & 2 watches in foreign ports to give all the cooks equal time ashore, especially when we were only in port for a short time. I loved 5 & 2 watches.

My ship is a destroyer In San Diego is it similar

A destroyer is a bit smaller than a cruiser but it does have alot of similarities

I got orders to the Port Royal. My ship is this one. I can't wait for it, just quarantined in Pearl Harbor
