Hi. All of these materials science online lectures are for a course I teach, Intro to Materials Science. Many of the slides are from the textbook we use for that course, "Materials Science and Engineering, An Introduction" by Callister and Rethwisch. Good book, by the way. I cite them on the slides. In various lectures in the course, I throw in other supplementary materials I find helpful, and I do my best to cite everyone on the slide. These online lectures were developed as part of a "flipped" classroom. I find the KZread platform is easy for my students to access on their mobile devices, etc. I didn't foresee these videos reaching such a large audience. I've gotten a kick out of that.

my question is why we study crystallographic directions and planes ....what's its usage in practical life
