As a recovering alcoholic, it hit me so hard when Mark responded 'not at all, I don't do that" when he was asked if he'd judge Ernest for his honesty. We all know this. We see it in every video. UPDATE ON ERNIE….. After seeing this a few weeks ago, prayer was made for Ernest that he’d safely return home here in West Monroe, Louisiana. I hadn’t really thought anymore of it this week but I walked into our church tonight (Wednesday 6/15/22) and there was Ernie sitting on the front row! He looked as if he’d lost even more weight since this interview and had the look of a homeless person. He didn’t remember me from before when he used to attend church but was happy that I greeted him and sat with him. I asked him where he was staying after church dismissed and he said “nowhere.” Then I asked where his family was and he said that he had no more family in West Monroe and asked if I could get him something to eat, which of course I said “sure.” On the way to the fast food place, Ernie told me his nearest family was in another town about 60 miles away. I ordered him a bacon double cheeseburger and fries, which he pretty much inhaled. I told ernie that I’d take him to his family’s house and he lit up with joy and said thank you for what seemed a minute straight. On the drive down, I told him about seeing him on soft white underbelly. He asked for my phone so he could see the interview. It was his first time to see it. We talked about music, religion, the lack of compassion in this world, mental illness and life in general. There was some grandiosity in his speech but he was coherent, intelligible and in his right mind and definitely not on drugs. I asked him when was the last time he’d used and he said “just before I left California.” He’d said doctors diagnosed him before with schizo affective disorder and bipolar but says he was definitely not crazy! We stopped about halfway to our destination and I got him some toiletries, some comfort items , socks, towels and a backpack to put it all in and he was very thankful. I gave him a Bible too of course. By this time we are in extreme rural central Louisiana. A very long way from Hollywood, Santa Monica and LA in general. I’m talking dense pine thickets and roads that go for miles with no houses. We pulled into the little town and I safely delivered him into the hands of his great Aunt. I know where she lives and have her number. They also have my number. So Ernest is alive and well and has a roof over his head for the moment but says he will absolutely go back to California as soon as he can.

So we just send them to the underbelly and hope for the best. Our system is utterly broken.

Right! I understand that some patients were mistreated but, I don’t think they should’ve completely shutdown most of these facilities. I've been thinking about a possible solution because it is a civil rights violation to hold people against their will (even though they do it to foster kids, because they are minors). I think nice places with couches, food, bathing facilities and beds that will attract mentally ill patients to stick around and get help are a possible solution. Sounds expensive but jailing hundreds of thousands of mentally ill people in prison isn't any cheaper.

He said in the beginning he was accused of 'touching' his 7-8 year old niece... He was 23 (later changed to '16'). He said the "niece was manipulating him" because "she wanted to steal the grandmother's $5000" ~ that's how/why it happened.. And then he said "nothing happened". But he even went to prison for it! Did most of you miss that part? I see only supportive comments here, nobody mentioning the little niece... Yeah, he's still a human so not meaning to judge. But there's a BIG reason why his family disowned him! He was adopted to the family and he molested the little niece. You can kind of understand the family disowning him, right? What I heard was a lot of excuses and him feeling sorry for himself. I do believe in 2nd chances though, but everything starts by first getting CLEAN.

Thank God I had a bad experience with it! But still the next day my mind kept repeating the meth to me. I felt so much shame, but the craving was unbearable and the come down of trying in one time was really bad. I remember bawling the next day for hours. I rushed both to church and therapy. What I learned was this drug will take your soul and it’s nothing to play with!!!! Please I beg of you, don’t play with this drug. Absolute bs I’ve tried meth 4 times now in 2 and a half years and I’m not hooked. It’s the darkside of my personality. I’m too busy with life to do it every day because when I’m on it it take about 4-5 days of a comedown just to start to get back to my routine of work eating properly and sleeping at a reasonable time. Just knowing those logical reasons stops me from doing meth regularly. I’m not an impulsive person there is always method to my madness.

I had a friend who was brilliant, probably had a 130 IQ and could have been anything, but he did meth, like LOTS of meth, and before we knew it he was inventing his own language and talking about cameras hidden in everything--even birds. He confronted a neighbor about a "robot parrot" (was just a regular parrot, sadly, a robot parrot would be cool) that was spying on him and he was sent to the nuthouse for a week. I picked him up and his hair was all chopped up (he "shaved" it with scissors...) and he was wearing a burger king crown. At the fist stoplight, he said "GOOOO!" in the most insane voice I ever heard and it turned green. Then he turned to me and my brother and said crazily but 100% seriously, "I DID THAT...." and just stared at us. Long story short, he stopped doing that crap and was 100% sane again. Meth can literally make you like a schizophrenic person so there is no way to know if it's drugs or mental illness.

God has nothing to do with any of this. God and the devil is in the hearts of man. We created God in our image. Not the inverse. Epicurus put it thusly: Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

You both are responsible to some degree for your children addiction and suffering, i know it sound judgemental but thats tha ttuth, but good news it doesnt have to be your fault, you could do whatever you can but without understanding how young mind is being developed and affected by certain things you cant really do anything, thats why i encourage people who have kids like that to get into psychology, read books and try to understand reasons why your kid behaving certain way. 99% of the parents think they understand and assume they know how to make things right, and thats the problem, something pops up in your mind and you believe it immedietly, and from now on you think you are helping you kid, but in reality you have no idea if you do more harm than good, you just believe its the right way. Its like screaming louder nad louder to a deaf person and you assume you cant help them couse you cant scream any louder.
