Just finished this game yesterday. And I've read some info that the moment Alcatraz jump into the spore machine, he's dead. The one that woke up and climb the hill is the Nanosuit itself with the dead body of Alcatraz and the memory of the Prophet, Lawrence Barnes. Alcatraz no more. RIP Marine :(

Yes hee the Shell of the Dead Marine I thought he was zombie Alcatraz but it's his Body. I think that's why he says they call me Profit. That's so sad.

In reality what happened is that when the suit says assimilation complete, that means that the suit was able to simbiotically sinethize the dna from alcatraz to turn it into prophet's dna combining it with ceph dna and human dna, the result is: Human, Ceph, and synthetic DNA. Alcatraz was in vegetal state since the beginning of the game so it is safe to say that they're both the same person alcatraz body and prophet's mind, but technically Alcatraz is not dead.

I liked Crysis 2, but I never felt like I was able to really sink my teeth into it. It was always shooing me from point A to point B without letting me go about things how I wanted to. The UI was too distracting, it felt like I was trying to play the game through a keyhole. And the final mission didn't really feel like it was a culmination, more like another level and then it was over. No final boss, just a map you can run through. And I really hated how Prophet just seemingly dissolved Alcatraz out of existence.

Yeah this is why first half of crysis 1 and all of warhead is better (the second half falls into the the same pitfalls as 2 with forced turret sections and very linear mission design)

Crysis 4 is happening

I was playing this and I didn't realize that this was the end. I thought I had still game to play.

Going off of childhood memories of playing Crysis 2, I very much remember feeling that the ending felt a bit too much like a sequel-bait. Also the fact that Alcatraz seemingly dies fully only to be replaced by some bald dude who pressed him into the role just made it sting.

Just remember. Lawrence Barnes is dead. The name "Prophet" was now just a personality stuck in a suit commandeered by a voiceless, physically broken man. Alcatraz died the moment he fell into the Litho-ship and his personality was ultimately lost in file corruption. Prophet lived once again. To quote a retconned book tying in the two games: *"They use to call me Alcatraz. Remember me."*

The first Crysis I ever played and one of my favourite Single player FPS games. Great story and gameplay, great graphics (For consoles at the time) and still looks good on a PC. If only Crysis 3 could compete...

I always thought Crysis 2 was still a great game. 3 was weak imo but 2 was a solid entry with the most gameplay time and a great ending cutscene! I felt like crytek really tried with this game but 3 was half assed

Crysis 2 had great story(I liked hargreave's character a lot) but I would definitely say gameplay was little too linear compared to 1st game, they tried to bring it back in 3 but story ended up becoming cliche with whole alpha ceph thing

Funny to realize the date in the top right in the flashbacks is 23.08.2023

This game has a final mission, true but has no boss final fight...

Where's the final boss part ?

First i thought wow this guy great for playing this mission for 12 minutes and then you just cut some of it. Because I remember having hard time defeating the only section with cloaking enemy in this game

You can one all 3 bosses if you kick a Carsten against them. Its funny

what the nano suite man said PROPHET Might be quite incorrect to a particular religion (BASED ON MY DAILY BASIS OF KZread SHORTS) BUT i must say This game is BAD ASSS

as much as I like Crysis 2, the ending fight was a bit underwhelming. I was expecting more of a Crysis 1 or Warhead type of boss.

@Darkness Believer well I tried going stealth and charging head on. With stealth you could easily pick off the bosses one by one regardless of difficulty. Without stealth, the bosses confront you one by one if you moved backwards instead of just rushing through. I used the X-43 Mike, armor mode and constantly monkey jumping. Killed them all first try on hardest difficulty. Dunno, may be luck but still much easier than Crysis 1.

talking about ease and luck. You’re not going to believe me, but I defeated all of them by melee punching them. I was expecting a huge boss fight so I didn’t want to use bullets. So I put maximum armor and punched the heck out of them, one by one. I was really focused, ran a little to recharge, then came back again and did it, on first try.

@@jorgepb6276 Imo I think every ceph unit should have been as powerful as the Guardians (the ones you fight at the end) . The other variants (at least in Crysis 2 and 3) are too Halo covenant-inspired, and can be killed in one or two melee strikes. These guys truly felt like the ceph seen in the trailer.

Next time use 0 Stealth

One of the worst video game endings of all time. They weren't even able to make a final boss, you just fight a handful of regular enemies. At least 3 improved somewhat but neither touches Crysis 1.
