My ears can only handle so much teasing...just release the damn CD already!! Haha. Can't wait to hear the EP in full! Cheers from Nova Scotia! Ps, Matt's vocals are fucking powerful and badass as all hell!! It's unfortunate that so many of your "fans" are stuck in the 90's and just assume you guys aren't doing extreme metal anymore because of one questionable album almost 10 years ago. This EP will fucking slay.

Hmmm...I'm actually in support of the new lineup and this album...but that was really simple and basic-sounding to use for a "teaser"...Cryptopsy fans like me only like that stuff as an element of an overall chaotic mix. BUT. I have a but. lol ...it's a good way to get non-fans that are into simpler music to look into them. Regardless...I'm not negative about bands I support. I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. And, honestly, if what I hear here is what the bulk of it sounds like...I will not be so happy. But we will see. The dark imagery of this and last album's overall sound has given me hope.

Naturally it's an EP so they can't afford to give out too much at this point. But did you hear the other 2 teasers? They give a better idea of what to expect. Here's what I think - it's pretty fucking good!

rascal1717 Good point. I'm just sayin' that I hope this straight-beat and groovy stuff isn't too often. Used right, I am for it. And yes, the other 2 teasers rubbed me the right way. I guess I got a bit thrown off on this one. But, like I said, my hopes are there, and I'm really the guy who defends bands that he likes, usually...So I'm a bit surprised at myself. I guess I AM scared that they feel they bought leeway with their "return to form" eponymous album, and will do the...um...other...thing...again...haha I l know I'm not alone in that fear. But I'm a fan, like I said, this lineup and all! \m/

PriestofGethsemane Wow man, that was well thought and insightful post because personally I'm unaware of Cryptopsy's music except Flo Mounier. Cheers from India \m/

Anway Pramanik Cheers, brother! Yeah...I've been into them since "None So Vile", getting into the previous one, ("Blasphemy Made Flesh") and following through the two with Mike DiSalvo on vocals. (Different, but equally impressive in different ways.) I didn't like the one after that due to a terrible misstep, but the self-titled was a good wrap-up of all their legit eras. So, if they stay as good as the last one, it'll be worth it.

I totally get your point man. I'm not worried about their direction though; Matt said in an interview that they realize their mistake and that the Unspoken King shouldn't have been released as a Cryptopsy album. Also I saw them live last fall and their bassist Oli told me his goal was to help bring back Cryptopsy's reputation as extreme metal kings and was incredibly satisfied with the songs they had written. I've said it before and I'll say it again, all those guys are some of the most underrated musicians in metal today (except maybe Flo, everyone knows he's a machine) and they seem to be in a good mindset, so I believe in them 100%. I was just saying it's unfortunate that some people who claim to be fans will probably not even give them a chance just because the vocalist's name isn't Lord Worm.
