They came down to Panama, where I live, and they opened the show for Krisiun. There were only around 60 people in the crowd, so I got the chance to be almost on top of the stage watching this amazing ladies crushing it! I walked all the way to the back of the stage and started recording videos of Luana. I got really close to her kit, and I immediately thought: "Damn, this girl can play!" She was killing it! She was murdering her kit with the most sophisticated technique, but, at the same time, she was incredibly focus on what she was playing; not even a single facial expression; she just sat on her kit with a stone face, moving her arms like a demon. So, being very impressed with her playing, I just kept on filming her from a close distance, but far enough, trying my best not to be annoying; and, all of the sudden, she did this awesome apocalyptic drum fill, and a loud "WOW!" escaped out of my mouth. This is when she noticed I was beside her, and she turned her face at me and gave me the sweetest smile I can remember; almost the same smile Audrey Hepburn gave George Peppard while singing Moon River on the staircase of Breakfast at Tiffany's (go find the video). My heart melted and, then, she returned to her stone face demon character. Lol. Everyone was impressed by this ladies; and everyone I talked to, commented about the amazing performance Luana gave. I, told them, wait, watch this, and showed them the video of her smiling at me. Everybody gave me the same reaction: "WOW!"

luana is definatly in my top five drummers of all time!!!

I play guitar, but I love watching good drummers more than anything. Been watching some play throughs of Luana, and holy shit… she is a precision weapon. She’s a musician with creativity, focus, technique, and ferocity. I feel we’re going to be hearing even more great stuff from her.

Great and interesting interview. Good questions and interest from the interviewer. She is charming and sweet, just like everyone in the band. I really hope they get bigger and bigger and accomplish all the goals the want and deserve.

She's definitely a sweetie pie and completely BADASS....she plays effortlessly

Great interview, I love how down to earth and friendly the whole band is! I really can't wait for the next album, I think that they will be true pioneers and massively influential for a new era of female bands and also for smashing down any remaining boundaries. More than anything, they absolutely fucking slay!

This and your interview with Sonia, I think have been your best interviews so far. Part of that is it seems you're getting more comfortable in general, and that you seem to have learned most of these artists are just folks. Early interviews you seemed a bit in awe, now even though you aren't a professional musician yourself, it just comes off as a conversation with someone with a particularly interesting job. Part of that is that Sonia and Luana are just so chill and natural with basically no ego involved. Loved both and again you have a talent for this! 👍

Crypta is the best death metal band working right now. Not just the best female death metal band... the best death metal band, period. And they keep getting better and better.

I’ve recently discovered this band here on KZread and I’m already hooked to their music and wish they played a lot more venues here in America along the East Coast and I would be fine spending money constantly,, watching them play in person as much as I could... these ladies are fine as hell and they are bad ass Artists of extreme/death metal🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I just saw Crypta 3 days ago and they were so good! Luana's drumming is so immense in the live setting. I felt in the midst of total chaos! Great interview with her.

Great interview! I'm so jealous of today's tech, but I'm happy to see that young musicians can connect and create good quality recordings without having to spend thousands of dollars! I was in a struggling band called "Battle Axe" in the late '70s - mid '80s, and all of our recordings were done on cassette, which are now all long gone or ruined. Keep rocking and never give up!

Was also the large location gap from her and the rest of the band especially during the pandemic. She is in Europe rest of the band is in South America.

There's absolutely nothing "new" about Crypta, it's got an extremely strong early-90's Deathmetal vibe, which is completely percfect, because back then the best songs were written.

I like the way she says 'Deaf Metal'.
