I know this song from the Everly Brothers but I never knew that A-ha had covered it. Gorgeous job with it! I love the harmonies.

'Crying In The Rain' ist eine wunderschöne Ballade für die ursprünglich von Carole King die Musik und von Howard Greenfield der Text geschrieben und die 1961 von den Everly Brothers erstmals interpretiert wurde. Am 15. September 1990 veröffentlichten a-ha diese Coverversion als Vorabsingle für ihr viertes Studioalbum und erreichten damit Platz 6 der amerikanischen Charts wo diese Ballade dann auch 13 Wochen verblieb. Die Interpretation von Cara Vel und Emily Linge ist, wie wir es nicht anders erwarten würden, wieder einmal traumhaft arrangiert, gespielt und nicht zuletzt auch gesungen. Sehr nah am Original aber trotzdem erkennt man auch hier wieder die Persönlichkeiten dieser beiden wunderbaren, multitalentierten Künstlerinnen! Alle Achtung Mädels sage ich da, Bravo und seid euch einer tiefen Verbeugung eines älteren Herren gewiss! 👌✌

Chiara plays the drumkit (and bass, and keyboards) beautifully, so can lay down the drum track herself. Or lay down guitar and bass tracks and sit live at the drumkit. Or Emily can lay down the guitar track, Chiara the bass track, and then live they could do drumkit and piano, respectively. So many beautiful combinations are possible with this lovely and insanely talented you ladies, with the gorgeous blend of their voices in harmony! I'm sure many of us would love to have an album of original works from either and/or both of them.

Outstanding tribute to the original by the Everly Brothers, who had a world hit with it in 1961.

A whole bunch of folks have covered it, including Art Garfunkel. It's a Carole King song, but I guess she gave it to the Everly Brothers first. My favorite recording is A-ha. :)
