Guys, I love your Ren reactions. I find this song very hard to watch - he was so low at the time. You mentioned Hi Ren - I kinda think that Hi Ren reflects where he is now, looking back on the journey he has been on. Crutch represents one of the early steps on his journey. Thankfully we know that he is feeling better now than he was those years ago. (And I agree with you that we can see how he has developed as an artist through his back catalogue). I am just so thankful that Ren exists, that he has produced such great material, that he is inspiring so many people and, hopefully, he can regain more of his health. Ren is releasing some new material on 29 March, his 33rd Birthday. Happy Birthday Ren !

He was clearly suffering, still is but it's good to also see him on a rise up now 💪

If I have the timeline right, this was before he was diagnosed with Lyme disease and got stem cell therapy…when he was at or near his lowest. He’s incredibly thin in the video for sure…and there’s not much hope to be found in this one. 😢 And at the time of this video, Bibi and Ren were a couple.

Not only is he really thin here but I think he is much younger - like a teenager - he does not seem as tall as in the more recent vids of past 4 yrs . So I think he was just a kid here .

he put out something on his community tab (or maybe twitter) a few days ago about this song, and yeah he is clearly much younger and like you say very thin as well. If you have seen some of the videos on his old 'me vs me' youtube channel it sounds like when he was making blog videos as doctors tried to work out what was wrong with him, some of those videos are hard to watch

​@@Silkytoaster he was in his 20s. When someone is very underweight with little muscle tone they often look younger than their years. the video was released 6 years ago when he was 26/27.

That video where he was at his lowest. Fuck me I've never wept for a total stranger like that. There's a part of me that can't help but think as awful as what Ren has endured is, what he creates and shares gives hope and a voice to so many who suffer in silence. I know a lot of people say suffering disproves God, but i passionately believe there is a God who brings good out of the worst suffering. And what art Ren has created from his suffering is such a powerful instrument for massive healing. Sorry if that sounds preachy. 👽👍🏼

Very well said👍 pain brings out the best in people, without lows we cannot have highs. It's all a part of the process, you have to go through hardship and suffering to truly understand what it is and what you don't want for yourself‼️

I'm really enjoying your reactions to Ren, & it's obvious you're getting to know him more and more, as we all are. Lots of Reacters, like yourselves, are gaining so much from reacting to Ren's talent so it' sad they don't all VERBALLY prompt their viewers to take a minute & subscribe to him. I can't believe Hi Ren, alone, has over 8m views but Ren has less than 1m subscribers 🤔 I'm sure he would feel all the support his art deserves, especially as he's undergoing treatment at this moment for his long standing illness...
