Crusty 1940s Surveyors Level. Unreal Outcome!

Hello wonderful People!
Welcome!....or welcome back!
Vintage Surveyors transits seem to be almost the perfect blend of practical tool and work of art. It's unfortunate to see one in such a grave state as this one was. I hope you enjoy watching it brought back to life.
Links to some of the stuff in this video or that I regularly use if you're interested.

Sandpaper.
Dura Gold Premium. Wet or Dry, Variety Pack Sandpaper.150-3000 grit. If you want to try a mirror finish the variety pack is a nice way to buy all the sandpaper you need with one click. Note: these are half sheets, not full sized. amzn.to/32kK8yI
Miady Sandpaper Variety Pack.Wet or Dry.120-3000. This is more economical than Dura- Gold. You get more sheets at a lower cost, and its still pretty good. amzn.to/32mIYCL
Sanding Drums for Dremel 432 pcs. These do not compare in quality to Dremel brand sanding drums. But over 400 pcs for under $20. amzn.to/3soWbFW
Bristle Disk. These have recently become an essential part of my tool kit. I don't have a favorite brand, however, these are the ones I'm currently using. amzn.to/2QaXiMf

Technically, this is a "level", used to establish horizontal levelness, mostly in construction. A "transit", or "theodolite" is used for highly precise angular measurements, both horizontally and vertically. Regardless of what it's called, this is a good job of restoration, returning it to a usable condition!

The transit is at least from the early 1960's if not from late 1950's. He's no longer with us, but his transit is and is stored in a nice wood box with all the tools. I also have the tripod for it.
