Crusty 1940s Surveyors Level. Unreal Outcome!
Hello wonderful People!
Welcome!....or welcome back!
Vintage Surveyors transits seem to be almost the perfect blend of practical tool and work of art. It's unfortunate to see one in such a grave state as this one was. I hope you enjoy watching it brought back to life.

Miady Sandpaper Variety Pack.Wet or Dry.120-3000. This is more economical than Dura- Gold. You get more sheets at a lower cost, and its still pretty good. amzn.to/32mIYCL

I've picked up two, the more expensive theodolite for about $80 and the model 4 that Kilo restored for about $30 off eBay. Both were in way better condition that Kilos. Just a thought, if you want one, they're not overly expensive

@@TheEphemeris yes the companies I have worked for over the years have a bunch of them just laying around but I've never been aloud to take one home. I will definitely have to look into it

@@bweber0204 just do it. companies dont care/know what they have laying around. ive seen stuff ive wanted like that but never ''asked'' & one day i found they had just thrown it all away! didnt even recycle it! ALL companies are only about $ not ever thinking about anything else...Better grab it now before someone does spring cleaning !
That is phenomenal - the difference is astounding!! Such hard work, yet it must be soooo rewarding when finished! 🙌🏻
I have that same instrument and have wanted to “clean it up” for a number of years. Probably will now.

Good luck on that, Victor!
Beautiful restoration, better than when it was new. Nice to see that different materials being treated according to their individual characteristics. 👍
Although I knew it would be stunning as I watched each piece evolve, the final result, completely assembled, actually took my breath away. Gorgeous? Definitely!
Welcome Back!! This is why I love to see YOU do these things because you do it ALL! You do not do things half way! Thank You sir!

Thanks William!
Truly magnificent restoration! Fifty years ago, as a teenager, I worked on a survey crew with my brother. Traversed some really tough terrain carrying a similar transit. Thanks for reviving the memories...I learned a lot from this summer job.
Literally better than new. Great work. I actually said "wow" out loud at one point.
Another superb restoration. Easily on the same level as a MyMechanics. Hopefully we get some classic Kilo humor and editing in the next one. It really sets your vids apart from other restorations. Although the quality alone sets you apart as well.

Better than brand new (no casting defects any more). Hats off to you. Superb restoration.
Awesome! I love that shiny bronze, looks like gold.
Amazing outcome. The detail makes the project perfect. Wonder how many would have instantly given up with such a piece thinking it was too far gone. Thumbs Up!
80 years later and it looks brand new again!! Wonderful job restoring it!! Also subscribed to your channel Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
And she's beautiful once more!💙
Amazing... This is the best channel in restore category! Your choice of shine finish and texture paint is always perfect! Your work is definitely better than original.

As always, another impressive transformation. I see you haven't made any new videos in over a year and hope all is well with you. Looking forward to seeing new videos from you in the future.
Omg you have done an amazing job. You are very talented. Well done! Can't wait for the next one.
Great work! I really love that wrinkle paint, that effect is just so amazing on old products. 😛👍
Once again, sheer perfection. Watching this go from green to glorious was lovely.
A rare case of good restoration of such devices. Even the paint was chosen correctly. My compliments for a job well done.
Beautiful workmanship, equally quality restoration. Nice vid.
I love watching a master at work. Awesome!
Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! Truly a gorgeous job. Better than when it was new. 👍🏻
Fantastic restoration....not only is it functional again, but a thing of beauty as well
Sadly I fall asleep watching these videos everytime. They are just so soothing and satisfying. Lol! They calm my mind.
I like your channel because you actually restore things and they look BETTER than they did when they were brand new. Unlike some people on KZread that just remove rust and clean shitty pitted metal, throw on a coat of spray paint and call it “restored”.
Hi ! This is a superb restoration, very accurate. I'd love to have this rinkle finish paint for my old measuring tools. Thank you for sharing ! 😊🇨🇦
The result is excellent. I appreciate the detail and level you take the finishes to. It is what separates you from most of the other restoration channels, and why I subscribed.
That was truly satisfying to watch, better than se... something I've forgotten about. You did an amazing job and now have one that is better than when manufactured. Beautiful!
I have never seen one of those before! It was really interesting when you took the top off and I saw inside of it. Great restoration! It looked better than new at the end
I thoroughly enjoyed this restoration. The appropriate technique applied to the right surface of each piece. Thank you.
That wrinkle black and brass really sets of the design. Superb.
This is by far my favorite. From garbage to beautiful. Excellent work sir
This turned out absolutely stunning 😍✨
My god! What a great job you did! Amazing comeout
That's just....Wow! I have nothing more to say.
This is the second one of your videos where I have learned something. a heat gun for wrinkle paint, simply brilliant
I have to say that you really outdone yourself on this restoration, the attention to details and the respect for the original looks of the piece makes for an outstanding result! I just miss the great humour you displayed on the last videos. Great work man!
When he started disassembling the optical device with a hammer, I was finally convinced that he is the right dude! The result is absolutely fantastic. This is not equipment, this is jewelry. Cat probably is on vacation.
One of the best restoration videos and such a beautiful job! Thanks for share!
You are a perfectionist, this is pure autonomous sensory meridian response. Buffing every surface and every screw, and other completely unnecessary but crucial steps to maximizing the quality of the final product. I will definitely watch the video two or three times more. This is work of the absolute highest quality, very very impressive. You have all my respect. With best regards from Germany.

Man you're just the best at this, the attention to detail, your patience when sanding(😂) and your very good sense of humour makes the videos very entertaining, please post more videos 😪 I saw one of your restauration at Instagram and find my way here asking in the comments, keep the excelent work👍👍
Great work 💪
you have an incredible skill set :)
Hope to see more! I love your videos!
Technically, this is a "level", used to establish horizontal levelness, mostly in construction. A "transit", or "theodolite" is used for highly precise angular measurements, both horizontally and vertically. Regardless of what it's called, this is a good job of restoration, returning it to a usable condition!
Excellent restoration. Looks beautiful.
Wow, really beautiful restoration! Also amazing that that glass bulb was still in tact! Nice find and great restoration!
I’ve watched a lot of restorations on KZread. But this has to be up there at the top! 💯
Unbelievably good. Better than new.
One of the best resto's I've seen 👌
It’s a magnificent piece of art by a true artist. Well done!
One of the best restorations I’ve ever seen! Well done!

Amazing restoration video. Really enjoy watching you bring new life to old delapitated items. Looking forward to your next video! 👍
Wow!! Outstanding workmanship! It is a joy to watch how objects become alive. Well done! Thank you for sharing it.
Super! Beyond words to be honest, very very nice, thank you 🙏🏻
You have made something so mistreated a beauty like it deserved. Wow, What a great job you did! What a beautiful Surveyors Transit! So beautiful the engineering that went into making and even designing that tool. Well done on the restoration.
I love restoration videos, and I think this is my new favorite resto video! Really loved this project.
Amazing as always!! Thanks for sharing!!
Congratulations on a fabulous job. I would love to see many more videos from you!
What a BEAUTIFUL job!! Thank you for sharing
OooooooooWHEEEEE! That is gorgeous. I've always been a sucker for brass...
This is beautiful. The polished brass with the wrinkle effect black paint is my new favourite aesthetic.
Superb restoration.... congratulations my friend
Amazing restoration.....fabulous job!
Absolutely stunning restoration!
This is by far the most engaging restoration I have watched. The brass and black painted finish look awesome. Thank you!
Один из самых крутых каналов про реставрацию. По качеству работы, по подходу, оснащенности рабочего места и вниманию к деталям! Спасибо, приятно смотреть! :)
What a great job. Turned out fantastic. 👍👍👍👍👍
Nicely done, It looks like the one I first used in a survey class at Cal Poly in 1970 but cleaner and shiny
That's simply breathtaking!
Amazing restorations made to look so simple. Video skills are top notch, love the humor/silliness/kitty you add to some of them. Thanks!
Awesome restoration! 🙂👍 It is so satisfying watching these videos..
Wow. Now that is a quality restoration! 🧡
Wow, what a beautiful restoration, superb workmanship.👏👏👏
You sir are a true craftsman. Wow!
I had never heard of wrinkle finish paint before. Looks to be a nice option for texture on smaller pieces.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Nice work!
Wow! Turned out so beautiful.. you are a master :)
That is fantastic work... It looks gorgeous all day polished up.
Looks amazing! It's a wonderful job! 💛
WOW! 🤩🤯 Great job on that project! Looks amazing!
Superb work. Absolutely beautiful result!
what a fantastic transformation
I always wondered what the inside of a Transit looked like, ever since the first time I saw my dad's one when I was a child in the 70's. The transit is at least from the early 1960's if not from late 1950's. He's no longer with us, but his transit is and is stored in a nice wood box with all the tools. I also have the tripod for it. You did a fantastic job on restoring that one. Thanks for sharing.
I always find these things so beautiful.
Definitely on par with my mechanics. I’d bet the spirit level is actually held in place with plaster of Paris.
Love your work. 2 thumbs up. You know what you're doing. Thanks for educating us on History.
That is a piece of art! Nice work.
Fascinating !!! Much better than a 'new' one ! Admirable work !
Wow... Didn't expect that level of perfection! Great job 👍
As a surveyor, I loved this restoration... I am very happy to see that you have given a new lease of life of the beautiful old buddy... Thank you...
Nice call on the crinkle paint, looks really good. Keep up the good work!
I'm impressed, again. This is one of your best restaurations. Stunning. Unbelieveable. The bevor I will throuw in the bin, the after is a historical master pease. If you don't like it any more, contact me, please. Regards from Belgium
