Crushing and melting super high grade gold ore from prospecting. OMG how much gold?
This super high grade rich gold ore specimen was found while metal detecting. It was found near Coarsegold California. Many gold prospectors would never crush a rock like this if they found it gold prospecting, but I had this one for 3 years and it just didn't attract any buyers
I did not have a jaw crusher available so used a home-made mortar and pestle and home-made chain crusher. Melting this gold was done with an induction furnace after crushing the rock and gold panning to remove the waste rock.
How close was my guess on the weight while the rock was in the gold pan?

If you get the quartz red hot then quench it in some 💦 it will turn to mush and be much easier to crush.
I wonder how it would have looked if you used acid to eat down The Rock
That was cool

You need 2 or three people more standing in a circle and stamping in sequence together to crush the gold rock
Are either crystalline/crystalized gold in quartz brittle? Or are they still malleable??
