Nice mention about not running to the AC on hot days; as a cyclist growing up as a cyclist riding and racing on Long Island, I was out in every weather imaginable, and learned to appreciate it all. Being “weather proof” makes you a better athlete, and helps you appreciate the natural world so much better!

Sketchy cop moment, made me realize there are other dangers out there. Keep pushing and stay safe!

Ah thank you. I was just looking all over for this, having vaguely remembered reading it back in the day. Here's a small part of a poem by Bukowski: people run from rain but sit in bathtubs full of water. it is fairly dismal to know that millions of people are worried about the hydrogen bomb yet they are already dead.

Can’t agree more. I work out in the elements. People get weak relying on AC, Heat, etc. Billy Connolly once said there is no bad weather, only the wrong clothes. Attitude determines your altitude bro, and you are flying high on life. I’m jealous bro. Keep pushing!

I never thought this was possible because of how bad some roads are, but you’re steady pushing. VB is an iconic skate city and it’s a great place to end the journey.

Great attitude on the weather. As long as its not too cold i dont mind the rain. Staying positive is contagious and good for everyones health. Keep it up dude. Just checked your go fund me and i think you should just keep skating around. Maybe up to Canada and back to Vancouver over the summer, then down to Mexico and on to Chili then back around the horn and up to Columbia, back to Venice beach.

Don't underestimate the Appalachian Mountains. They don't have the elevation of the Rockies or anything, but the older roads there were built a long time ago and have much steeper pitches than modern roads. Don't try to do a 75-mile day when you hit that part of the country.

KAREN* I think it was just somebody that was scared for his safety..some of those bridges are tall enough you'd be knocked unconscious from hitting the water WITHOUT getting hit by a car before hand..and that's if you're lucky to get a bridge with water underneath..😂

11:20 Man I cringed so hard at that cop, pulling up on you sirens blasting like that. She even doubled back and turned them off... That whole conversation was so awkward. I get that they're just checking up on you, doing their job, but come on man you're supposed to be committing a crime for the cops to stop you! You are SKATEBOARDING! You should be left alone! Even if someone CALLS the cops, the dispatcher should be like "skateboarding on the road is not illegal, have a good day" I hate to be that guy, but Law enforcement can't stop you unless they can articulate why they believe you are doing something against the law. Both times you've been stopped now you have been doing nothing illegal whatsoever. Goes to show that they will stop you regardless of their suspicion of a crime or not. I have a feeling it will happen again. You do a great job handling it gracefully, I would be pissed! 😆

Chad, You bring up a point about fighting through pain at the beginning, but now you're addicted to pushing. I think getting into and out of addiction are similar in this fashion. You just have to decide which side you're willing to give pain to for a while, if you're concerned about the long haul.

I'm the same way. I hate taking breaks. I would much rather just push through and stop at the end.

I don’t think it was that serious but thank you. Someone just made a call about a skater being on a bridge. It is a bit odd. Maybe they thought I was stranded. Cop came to check on a routine call and was nice to me.

he honestly needs to just buy a rain jacket - you can find them that are pretty low profile that won't take up a ton of storage space in his backpack but MAN would that make a difference - the wind resistance he's likely getting from those garbage bags must be insane - it's like wearing a sail
