Hang in there this is me too- but the nonstop storybook toddler, turned into a 6yo who’s on her second time through all 7 Narnia books, and 4x through the first Harry Potter, and regularly shows off her vocab words from Beatrix Potter, and can finish my sentences quoting Julia Donaldson… the hours put in instilling that love of reading, pay off big time 😊

I remember having to do at least three books and three songs every single night. Now we've progressed to where my now-teen will scoop the cat litter boxes in exchange for getting a chapter of the latest mystery novel we're reading aloud every night! (Have to admit, as much as I appreciate not having to scoop boxes myself, I actually like that she still wants to be read aloud to. :) )
The candle represents the passage of time! 🤣 This is how long my kids take to go to bed. We play card games and read books.
okay wait this actually seems wonderfully relaxing lmao crunchy mom might be on to something

Honestly, this is a mum who deeply loves her children and cares about their welfare and emotional development.
If my mom suddenly acted like this when I was a kid my reaction would have been "welp she's finally snapped. She's gone off the deep end and this sleepy time tincture will be the end for me"😂

Ok, for real though it makes SUCH a difference talking about their big feelings of the day before bed. Also, sleepy time tincture ❤.
Wait..writing down the children’s “big feelings” for the day is actually a really good idea. I’m not a crunchy mom by any means..I’m more like the mom you talk about to your other crunchy friends when you’re “gossiping” on these videos 😂 but I’m totally doing that with my 5 and 7 year olds! Thank you 😊

@@scarlettTG2704 THAT COULD MEAN TWO DIFFERENT THINGS-
The “letting go of big feelings” is really good, actually, for all ages, particularly winding down for bed. I think if more kids were taught to acknowledge but not hang onto unnecessary “big” feelings, negative or positive, we’d probably be less anxious overall as adults. And have less sleep disorders lol. Not that you should brush off everything, some events/feelings deserve longterm introspection and respect, clearly. So we agree about a thing, I guess lol. In other news, this candle is very much giving Ebenezer Scrooge 😂
People laugh but kids need this kind of love and care.
The fact that the candle is just almost gone at the end💀

This actually sounds relaxing though. Probably one thing about being crunchy that I wouldn’t mind
I love how you almost break into giggles when you announce the massages. Nice hold. :):)
The big feelings, lack of screens, warm lighting, and mindfulness meditation are actually amazing bedtime things. I can't get on board with the womb noises, but to each their own!
honestly this is actually so cute.

Tea, meditation, breathing , massage all sounds amazing
That womb noises at the end....!
Comedy and satire aside, the Earthly Sleepytime tincture and lotion has been an absolute blessing to our family’s bedtime routine ❤
Most of this is over the top but teaching kids breathing excercises and to be aware of tension in their body is super helpful actually. I had to learn how to do this after suffering from a panic disorder and it has been instrumental in keeping it from blowing up again. It’s just a great way of learning to manage anxiety, which I was never taught.
ok im not crunchy but i love everything about this video 😳 it just seems like a genuinely relaxing and calming night routine!! i would love this (now and as a kid) 😌
NGL that sounds super relaxing like a spa
Why does it actually sound like such a relaxing routine? I am so sleep deprived, help..
Okay, but that Earthly Magnesium Cream is the bomb! I use their unscented one and it’s the only thing that even touches my pregnancy induced restless leg syndrome!
Crunchy mom, please adopt me! 🫣🤷😂😂😂 Them womb noises at the end! Who-wee. Beautiful
Okay but why does this sound literally so relaxing 😂 I for one would love a crunchy mom put down 👏
It’s the homemade white noise for me😂😂😂 This routine honestly sounds relaxing though lol
the way she was about to laugj at the end, i just love her
You know some of this stuff has actually been recomended to me for my anxiety like the writing down your thoughts and burning them just to get it out and also same with daily stretches or at least getting your body moving in some way for a couple minutes a parent who cares about their kids mental well being that much to instill it in them at a younge age so they carry on taking care of it when their older is honestly something i wish i was able to learn when i was younger
There gonna become the healthiest kids ever
The commitment to the candle length
Not gonna lie. I want her to be my mom.
Moms that start like this become Karens when they reach middle age, because repressing any anger and obsessing about perfection drove them to a breakdown.

I don't think crunchy moms are like that, my impression of them is that the way they deal with emotions is to confront them and let them go at the end, and if you're worried about the amount of attention and care those moms put into their children, yes that may affect them if them if the moms continue to do this when the child's more grown up

Not always. My cousin is a crunchy mom and she has 3 kids. The oldest is a teenager and the youngest is a toddler and she’s still not a Karen.
That kid will never be able to sleep in anything other than this precise way.
Nah fr this is actually a good night-time routine. You have low, warm light (like the sunset!), soft-spoken stories, calming tea, slower breathing, body relaxation, etc. I try to do these kinds of things and I get to sleep a lot quicker.
The whooshing was an impeccable addition
Okay I honestly love most of these Having anywhere near this level of support as a kid probably would've made my life so much better and actually made me feel loved and cared for for once. Of course some of it is overkill, such is the nature of satire, but there's genuinely useful (albeit crunchy, but who said that's a bad thing?) advice. Definitely keeping a mental checklist of ways to be a better parent whenever I raise my own kids!
It's the candle that gets me most
Ngl, that sounds like a pretty dope bedtime routine! I had ZERO routine growing up... would have been so nice to have something like this. Especially having chronic pain I didn't know how to express, that magnesium massage sounds _awesome._ Dang. Now I'm really sad for my childhood and teen self.

Some of these routines were not so bad. I like the writing down your feelings.
Honestly, most of this sounds wonderfully relaxing. I mean, maybe I'd skip the final bit, but you can come tuck me in and read me 12 books!
I lowkey wanna be this mom. Maybe not so overly crunchy, but I wanna grow gardens, use natural medicine, eat healthy foods, buy from morally right companies, read and sing to my kids, etc.
Letting go and stretches are really good though cannot deny
