We are going on our first cruise in Alaska this May and you advise had me check the current prices, They were lower, We are still 109 days out and got a $400 refund, an additional $100 in on board credit and free Premium Beverage package all because of your advice. His other argument is that he's never seen this "enemy" he's talking about and the only one who's trying to get him killed is him (his commander). Sort of a refreshing view on the subject. Another great video Gary! As a many-times cruiser, I’m always amazed at the tips you come up with that I hadn’t heard about. Could you answer this? A couple of years ago we booked very early to ensure a particular cruise. We got $750 on board credit as an incentive to purchase. By the time of the cruise, the price had dropped by almost £1000. We didn’t know then that you can ask for compensation if prices drop significantly. Would we have been likely to get OBC or some other form of compensation if we had complained or would the OBC we already received have been considered to be a reduction in the cost? Thank you.

Often times, it expires at the end of the cruise. So use it or lose it. But check between cruise lines to see if they rollover.

It usually depends on how long the cruise is. Carnival is less than one week is $50, less than two weeks is $100, longer than 2 weeks is $250.

Good point. I was thinking along similar lines. We received OBC for one of our cruises which was great, but after 17 nights we still had balance to pay at the end of the cruise. It would have to be a very substantial amount before we'd struggle to spend it all.

Carnival shareholder? I used to cruise with P&O when they were independent. They were the creme de la creme. Then they were taken over by Carnival and I was disgusted with how standards had fallen. I sent a detailed letter of complaint to P&O and they didn't even reply. I never want to hear of P&O or Carnival again

it's one of the tricks they use to make it psychologically appear that you're NOT spending money, and as you can see it works. casinos and gambling use the same trick. you use chips instead of money so it won't appear as if you're losing money, you're playing a game with a "make believe coin"

Elizabeth Borkland; in my opinion, a T shirt is a bit too casual for these presentations and they are not flattering on mature person, especially when they are black. A button - up shirt and even a jacket and a cap - something nautical would make him quite handsome.(imagine a Queer Eye makeover). All the same, the wisdom of Travel Tips is the important thing not appearances.

I like your channel, but for goodness sake find a better, much shorter way to say what you want to say. There are 9 points in this video, but you have addressed each point at least 3 or 4 times. Your commentary is like a tango: two steps forward, one step back, followed by a u-turn. Why do your videos have to last 10 minutes when you can bring your message just as clear in 3 to 4 minutes?! Or are you doing it so KZread will add mid-video adds to further boost your monetization, which requires 10 minute videos? Just come to the point man! Once you notice how you phrase, re-phrase and then re-re-phrase again each point it become almost impossible to continue to watch.
